As Georgia Leader for Pickens Plan Supporters, my goal is to bring us together as one group with divisions for different areas of our great state. We want to be well represented both on local and national level. Therefore, my plan is to have one GA group, so that when a person joins they do not have many inactive groups to choose from, but one active vital group. I ask that all who have started groups in Ga contact members for feedback. Let's work together. Let's set one group and delete others so we can all stand united. Each group now has so much to give, if we can do it together it will be more organized and productive with better communication. Also, we will have the ability to track our numbers and in this effort, numbers will mean power. So, please contact me with feedback, I am shooting for us to have this accomplished in the next 2 weeks so that all the new members and current members of a 130,000 member army can corrodinate efforts and make a difference in our state and beyond. I will pledge to contact, and meet in person all area leaders on a regular basis to keep us strong. Who is with me on this? Thank you for your time and all your efforts, pass this around and let's get to work. As soon as I get a hold on the petitions, I will strive to have GA as one of the largest groups represented, it starts at home. Let's make Georgia Pickens Plan Supporters a strong group. Have a Windy Day! Sam

Greetings Friends,
We all need to thank Mr. Pickens for explaining the energy problem that we as a nation face. Earlier it was one Group (users) pointing fingers at the other Group (suppliers) and vice versa. The problem is real. It was magnified to some extent, in recent times, by speculators. But, the truth is we are importing more oil every year and producing less. We are sending billions of dollars overseas.

I like Mr. Pickens Plan but I think it needs to be supplemented by other plans. It by itself will not get us to Energy Independence. It will just buy us more time. For this reason I have posted a petition for Energy Independence .

Please (a) sign the Petition and (b) forward it to your friends. United we can achieve Energy Independence and avoid this constant financial bleeding of our great nation.
Thanks.

Regards and Best wishes,

Alankar Gupta

SUBJECT: Solarizing Georgia...
Academically speaking we could reproduce every bit of electricity that Georgia consumed last year with basic 'non-fancy' fixed position solar panels (simply 125 watt rigid panels) arrayed in less than 20 miles x 20 miles.... I have had half a dozen people arrive at this same conclusion.
According to the U.S. Dept. of Energy... we could do the same for the whole country with an area measuring 110 miles x 110 miles...... take a look: http://www1.eere.energy.gov/solar/pv_quick_facts.html

P.S. Please understand, I am offering the above notion as an item that is purely 'academically' noteworthy (because on that level it is valid) - there are technical challenges to it that must be addressed such as transmission line power loss and storage. However, it places the concept out there in a tangible fashion that demonstrates that we could move toward solar in Georgia in a massively meaningful way.

Hey Folks,

Thanks for taking the lead and creating a group. This is exactly what we are going to need to sustain this campaign and realize its goals.

My name's Brett and I'm the Director of Online Organizing for PickensPlan. I want to be as helpful as possible in making this group work for you, and coordinating with the rest of the campaign.

Here's a link to a discussion on tips for a successful group:
