Though I realize that a vehicle like the proposed Solo isn't for everyone, the automobile wasn't for everyone in the beginning either. It was seen as a rich person's toy, with little practical value. But those early cars got a lot of attention, and over time, they've become ubiquitous. This little vehicle would get a lot of attention too, and as a result, more people would be made aware of alternatives to gasoline. The last time I showed it to a group was at the Natural Gas Vehicle Coalition convention at Salt Lake City in 1997, and the response was 100% positive, but I failed to follow it up. Since then, we've worked out some issues of ingress / egress, lighting, windshield wipers, etc. I firmly believe that something like this could do a lot to raise public awareness, and could help give CNG the "sexy" image it's been lacking.
