Conversion Now

This site is not associated with any manufacturer, but it welcomes their input.

For the Pickens Plan, and its army, to achieve their full potential should CNG conversion kits be accessible for ALL American's vehicles? Would accessible and affordable CNG conversion kits allow us to use less foreign oil, while allowing us to retain the ability to use traditional forms of fuel when we don't have access to CNG. Should we tell our legislators to support and introduce legislation that makes CNG conversion kits more accessible and affordable! Currently, the Federal EPA “certification” process for CNG conversion kits requires that each kit be certified for use on each vehicle and each model year of that vehicle. Is this appropriate? If you have insight to current CNG conversion kit technology, the justification (or lack thereof) EPA certification regulations, or the politics of these issues, please help educate us all and leave a comment or create a discussion!

If there's anyone here who thinks they would be good for the Action Committee, visit the group and sign up. We need folks who are comfortable calling and meeting with elected officials on a local and national level. My contribution

We have to become independent from Middle Eastern Oil. For those that want - you can go to My Page and read my Mission Statement written years ago. The following is my request that can help. The automobile manufacturers are just beginning to build the HEV with the exception of Toyota, Honda and one American automotive manufacture Eaton who by the way is the only American automotive manufacture in the black. They just aren’t building it properly. With enough awareness they just might.

I invented the HEV beginning 1979. Patent issued 1986
Patent 4,597,463 shows energy transfer. My file number 06/546,170 shows the drive.

I would like people to energetically, aggressively, push the American Automobile manufacturers to build the HEV (hybrid electric vehicle). This vehicle will reduce consumption of any alternative energy and reduce carbon.

The HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) can use many alternative energies. It is the most flexible automobile available. It’s not being built to use the following with the exception of gasoline/diesel but it can be.

HEV – flex fuel,
HEV – hydrogen (water)
HEV – dirty hydrogen (NG)
HEV – NG
HEV – LNG
HEV – LPG
HEV - CNG
HEV - H2
HEV – E85
HEV – gasoline – not an alternative energy; however it is available. HEV = less consumption
HEV – diesel – not an alternative energy; however it is available. HEV = less consumption
HEV – solar? Future
HEV – plasma? Future
HEV – etc, etc, etc, etc, etc

The HEV – (plug in) can be used with any of the above. If the fuel is combustible it can be used. What the HEV allows is less consumption of any fuel used. None of the alternative energy fuels above are available in quantity. Demand is the problem if we want to wean ourselves off Middle Eastern oil.

The HEV is an EV a hybrid EV. Many people don’t think of it as being an electric vehicle.

The hybrid can be built to be as fast and sturdy as any sports car, SUV or Truck manufactured today. Eaton is currently building a truck for Fed X and others.

Did you know we have 13 Trillion Dollars sitting in offshore accounts just waiting for the right smart people to access. All we need to do is implement the Fair Tax and bring those Funds back into the American Economy.

Please go to www.fairtax.org and see what you can do about this.

Please Keep me in the Loop!
Im with you 100% anything I can do in my power just call on me.

Sounds like the typical form letter response (# 75, # 85, etc) from a politician. He didn't answer your question specifically and ends up making a generic policy statement.
Bill Tucker Comment by Bill Tucker on September 30, 2008 at 3:32pm
This is a response I recieved from Senator Bill Nelson to a proposal about how the EPA could speed up the conversion kit approval process:

Dear Mr. Tucker:

Thank you for contacting me about increasing our nation's use of natural gas.

We must develop a long-term energy strategy that alleviates high energy prices and reduces our dependency on foreign oil while protecting our precious environment. The prices of home energy and gasoline have risen in recent months, leaving many struggling to afford driving to work and heating or cooling their homes.

Natural gas usage shows promise as way to lower energy prices and greenhouse gas emissions in the short term. Florida currently consumes over 894 billion cubic feet of natural gas each year, and most of Florida's counties have access to natural gas.

In the long run, however, we need to shift towards alternative energy and to drastically increase the efficiency of our cars, buildings, and appliances.

I will keep your views in mind as the Senate continues to consider ways to address America's energy problems. Please do not hesitate to contact me again.
