I am quite concerned the activity here seems to be waning.
I hope people aren't getting comfortable again as a price of a barrel of oil seems to be declining.

Be sure to keep in touch with your local congressmen and senators. I started writing once the Wallstreet Bailout bill came on the news, and I found it easy to do. I still feel that the government doesn't listen to everyday people, but if we don't speak up then there is no chance our voices will be heard. Don't let the economic crisis distract us from our mission to spread the word about the Picken's plan. If we hit another major depression government reliefe programs might fund huge renewable energy projects like the Hoover Dam during the last great depression.

Mr. Pickens ....Can a dvd be made of your presentation at Salt Lake? I would buy it , as I think others would, and show it locally at schools, libraries, or where ever I could get a crowd to see it.

It's a horse race again!!! I'm chomping at the bit. After all this time could it be that there are 2 potential outcomes?

Bulletins as they occur...

Hi C Cowell,

In reply to your message... NO! I do not want government setting prices for goods. I understand your motivations, *BUT* you've gotta stop to understand the consequences of what you're saying!

Hello CT,

A couple thoughts, I do think converting to heat pumps and clean burning wood stoves is our best way to heat homes. But first we should invest in insulation as needed. I'm concerned about all the people who are going to have trouble heating there homes this winter. On transportation, improving the mass transit system will take some of the load from the highways, but so will smaller lighter cars. Most cars on the highway are nearly empty, carrying only one person. The car companies need a smaller all weather electric commuter vehicle. The Chevy Volt looks great, but it's still 4 passenger and will be mostly used to get 1 person back and forth to work.

We have a lot of mountain streams in NW CT. Directing a small part of the stream into a pipe running to the bottom of the mountain will provide a steady supply of high pressure water which can be run through a turbine to produce electricity. In stalling the pipe won't be cheap, and the system would need to be maintained at the inlet, but it's another small part of the answer.

State of CT Grants $66K to Dove & Boar Farm in Hampton, Conn. Cool! Smart investment by the farm. The job was done by Solar Wrights a Rhode Island company. I guess they had the best bid.

I don't have a problem with the farm or the installer.

The 15.6-kilowatt solar array got $65.9k from the state (almost 1/2 and $29.4k from the fed...

$4.23/Watt of state grant finds plus $1.88/Watt federal... As I said well done farmers!

As a CT taxpayer and CL&P ratepayer, that's our $$$, My peeve is that the system had a miserable price... $8.50/Watt. Where are all the improvements that the PV 'associations' are claiming to have? I don't know, do you?

What they have are lobbyists, well connected interests in organizations that have been entrusted to make decisions in our collective best interest. Looks like they failed again.

Please please please, don't criticize the farmer or the installer. Their actions make sense!

I have a problem that a state entity is giving away $$$ to out of state interests.

In the interest of disclosure my company was burned by the CCEF, so there is some bitterness here. I feel the CCEF is dirty. I feel that they have staffers that couldn't cut it in the real world so became bureaucrats. They protect their little fiefdoms, and quash innovation. Again I'm saying this as one who was stepped on. In one of there rounds of questions to me that actually wanted to know how many pounds of propane per hour the STS engine burned! Sheesh! I never even mentioned propane... And we clearly state that we don't burn *any* fuel... Bureaucrats!

OK. that's enough vitriol. I'm going to be in enough hot water with my partners for posting this much. Thanks for letting me vent.
