Hi All
I contacted Rep. McKinney about putting a turbine up on State land
where it might be high enough to catch a breeze. Also see ....
Poulsen hybrids has a website that explains how they convert cars to plug-in hybrids. They are in Shelton, CT.

e-85 is a really bad idea. It costs almost as much as gas, and doesn't provide as many MPG. It is not a good "alternative" energy source since ethonal (the main ingredient) takes a lot of cropland and energy to produce. The only people who will benefit from e-85 are corn farmers because the increased demand for their crop to produce ethonal will raise the price of corn. Biofuels in general are a disaster waiting to happen. We can't divert farmland needed to feed people to make fuel. Any savings (if any at all) we'd get as a nation by producing domestic biofuels will come back to bite us in the form of higher food prices.

Hello one and all,Im rather new to the chat sections, but here I go.Has anyone tried to buy a flex fuel vehicle yet? Im thinking of it,but it seems our state has no stations that provide E-85! Its a little frustrateing that they offer you a vehicle, but theres no way to fuel it,why? I was in Pennsylvania this past week-end ,in the Lancaster region and they had three E-85 stations within a 20 mile radius of the city...amazeing!!! Perhaps Jodi Rell should be made aware of this and see if her and Mr.Blumenthal could check out this situation? Any one else out there have any thoughts on this subject,or anything related to it??

Hi, I am Elizabeth and I currently live in California, but own a house in Connecticut. Is there any talk there about geothermal energy for heating as an alternative to oil furances? I fear the cost of fuel oil for the furnances this winter will be out of sight. Has any one had any experience with alternative fuel furnances such as corn pellets or anything else? Are people doing anything or is there alternative heating being advertised by companies in Connecticut?

I see that Hawaii is now requiring all new construction incorporate solar water heating where possible. Why not have a similar law passed that requires all new construction to include renewable/alternative energy systems where possible? Give incentives - state tax breaks, local property tax breaks for installing systems.

For Connecticut, we need to develop arrays of small wind turbines -- we just don't have the locations (or, sadly, the will) to place large windmill farms.
