Can anyone provide websites or sources of alternative solutions we can start to implement now? Small windmills, solar panels, etc? Every bit counts now!!!!
We just had a solar panel and stone collector installed in December for hot water by Solarsearch of Guilford CT. They have been around for many years and did a great installation. Costs $8000. after Federal rebate, but the system has taken over all of our hot water needs as of April and reduced our propane bill by over 60% even in the winter. With propane price skyrocketing, we are figuring on a crossover of 10 years at this point to payoff system. Adds great value to your home.
I am also ordering photovoltaic equipment from solarhome.org which is a great site for all sorts of alternative energy sources. Lots of small, easy to install systems already available.
