Hot and forbidding, cold and lonely, the desert is an ideal place to put solar and in some places wind power plants. There is a vast amount of space available in the deserts of the US, much of it uninhabitable for humans. Power plants can be built that will minimize disruption of the natural landscape and its inhabitants. Both should be able to dwell in peace and harmony in the vastness of the deserts. Most could be placed in areas that are not even visible from ordinary dwelling places or highways to keep the esthetics as beautiful as they are.
