Lets talk about the Natural Gas Act of 2009

* Posted by PickensPlan on November 12, 2009 at 2:28pm in Natural Gas Discussion Group

Believe it or not, we are already in the middle of November!

Be sure to ask your U.S. Representative and your U.S. Senators to support The Natural Gas Act of 2009, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Click here to support the NAT GAS Act of 2009.

Information is key when it comes to Natural Gas. Especially if we want to offset imported diesel to power heavy trucks.

You can read all about Natural Gas by clicking here. Information on the importance of getting Natural Gas Vehicles rolling in the United States can be found by clicking here.

Feel free to share your thoughts!

Invitation to join the NW Renewable Energy Group
I have started a Regional group, welcoming comments, ideas, and suggestions for Renewable Energy in the NW Region. Including states from the Pacific, Cascade and Rocky Mountain areas. I realize that some of my Pickens Plan friends are outside this region, but you are always welcome to join and add your thoughts to the discussion. We should be looking at best available sources of energy in our region, and ways to improve the power grid to transfer energy from region to region as it is needed.

BE 500 PEOPLE!

The first day of the 3 day Pickens Virtual March on Washington is around the corner. Among other actions, I’m encouraging everyone to send a single eMail EVERY DAY. That is counted as 500 in the minds of our elected officials.

In political arithmetic, you ARE 500 people. Every eMail legislative aides receive is statistically calculated to represent 500 people in a congressional district who feel exactly the same way...even if they didn’t actually write. That’s absolute fact. It’s a simple thing to do, but it has tremendous impact.

Please go to Find your District Congressman and enter your zip code in the box on the far right side. You will be directed to a page at CONGRESS.ORG that automatically finds and allows you to eMail your elected officials on the federal and state level. Copy and paste the following text:

--------------------------Beginning of Letter ---------------------------------------------------

(Subject Box:) Support the Pickens Plan

(Issue Area Box: Choose Energy)

(Editable Text Area:)

I am a constituent living in (FILL IN CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT OR TOWN) who supports the Pickens Plan and asks you to do the same. America’s dependence on foreign oil depletes our economy, threatens our national security and negatively impacts our environment.

Please sign the Pickens Pledge and support conservation, education and the development of clean energy at every possible opportunity. It’s important for our economy and the well being of generations to come.

Thank you for your thoughtful consideration of this matter.

------------------------End of Letter ------------------------------------------------------------------

The rest of the options are your own choice. Click the “Send Message” button at the bottom of the page.

This type of appeal makes our leaders take notice, and I urge every one of you to BE 500 PEOPLE today, because you really are. You have power that can be delivered with a few clicks of your finger. Don’t wait…do it now!

Thank you for your support.

The Stimulus Bill isn't a stimulus bill. Neither is it green or truly supportive of alternative energy. It fails to accomplish the goals of energy independence as supported by most thinking Americans and it fails to achieve many of the other goals advocated here.

Rather the so-called Stimulus package is a giant pork-laden bill that piles on 1 trillion dollars of national debt that even our grandchildren won't be able to pay. The result of this boondoggle bill is higher taxes, increased government regulation and a socialized, national economy.

The greatest casualty of this stimulus bill, if it passes, which I'm hoping it won't will be our individual freedom. I support energy independence for America, but not at the cost of our freedom and liberty.

Some 200 years ago, Patrick Henry said it best, "Give me liberty, or give me death!"

Looks like Oregon just lost a major Wind Farm -- How can our Environmental
Leaders expect to have their cake and eat it too -- there must be some middle ground -- personally I,as a Building Designer find beauty in the "sculpture" of
the towers against the open fields and blue sky

Hi all

I am glad to see so many getting involved in greenery and volunteering. I remember the Mother Earth News way back in the sixties. I don't know if it is still published or not but lots of the ideas of today where presented then, albeit, just as starting points.

It seems that starting building by building with energy conservation and renewal as we have for awhile now helps. Now adding solar per individual buildings and wind where feasible at the individual property level is a great start. Recycling on farms to provide energy for running local machines and networking out seems to be happening at some level.

It is all stuff to make this world more interesting and to find our root priorities for sure.

I am starting to volunteer a little, getting educated etc.

What's everyone doing in the NorthWest?

I'm in the Army, but more a foot soldier up to this point. I'd be happy to write a letter or two and make some calls. Can we schedule a local event to "meet and greet" and talk about these issues? Anything I can participate with, with the obvious time constraints of a busy life, I'll be happy to pitch in!

Cheers,

A. Yinger

Hello OR-01

I am looking forward to working with you all. We still need district leadership help. If you are able and willing, please send me an email so we can discuss.

It is 'go time' for the Pickens Plan. We need everyone's help to accomplish the district goals of a.) new member recruitment (500 new members being our target), b.) getting letters to the editor and op-ed articles placed in newspapers, and c.) getting the U.S. Senators/Representatives for OR-01 to sign the pledge.

It will take all of us working together. Now is the time for action. Who's with me?

Cheers,

Micah Lauer
