We need to do a better job of letting Simpson,Crapo,Otter and Riesch know about the PICKENSPLAN. Their offices were closed yesterday and I am leaving today. You need to make face to face contact with them and let them know this will help keep
our $$$$$$$$$$$ here in Idaho and create jobs here.
Keep working and spreading the word.
GO to the High sckools, College Campuses and spread the word. It is OUR children and Grandchildren who we are helping.
GO PICKENSPLAN.
THANK YOU.
God Bless AMERICA.

I have signed up about 20 new Pickensplan members while on Vacation in Idaho Falls. From high schoolers to 'OLD FARTS". Get them involved. We need to get Simpson, Reisch and Crapo on board. I went to their offices yesterday but they were closed. Also wrote a letterb to the Editor/Post register. Jerry Brady could be contacted to work on Walt Minnick.
GO PICKENSPLAN.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

Hello,

I created a general paper to post on Bulletin boards. If you would like to have it, I need an E-mail address to send it to as an attachment.

Nordic Turbines Set To Deploy
North American Windpower Newsletter Thursday 21 May 2009

Nordic Windpower USA Inc., a manufacturer of two-bladed, utility-scale wind turbines, has been awarded contracts for 19 of its N1000 1 MW wind turbines for public- and private-sector community wind projects in North America and South America.

The 70-meter N1000 turbine, with blades 59 meters in diameter, will provide energy for schools, wind farms, a military base, a municipal utility and a sustainable residential development. The projects are located in four U.S. states (Arizona, Indiana, Iowa and Minnesota) and Uruguay.

In March 2009 Nordic Windpower selected Pocatello, Idaho, as the
site for its new turbine manufacturing facility for the North American market. “Idaho is very pleased to have attracted Nordic Windpower, a rapidly growing company in the renewable energy sector,” said Governor Otter. “Idaho is committed to increasing our energy independence by increasing renewable energy use to 25 percent by 2025. That will mean great new jobs for Idahoans as we continue to draw leading alternate energy businesses such as Nordic Windpower to our state.”

Hello all,

I will be participating in some events very shortly where a have the opportunity to hand out flyers. Do you have some flyers already designed and ready for copy? I could design it myself from scratch, but it would be easier to have some ready-made ones to tailor to this area (if needed). Please, remember that I am in a conservative/neutral area, and the flyers need to be targeted so. But, any ready-made flyers would be helpful.

Hey Ryan, and ID-02 members. We are trying to get more activity going by forming a regional group for NW Renewable Energy. Have new discussion topics: from OR, Clyde Childers wants to see more Feed-in Tariffs, this has been instrumental in increasing solar power in Germany and Spain, and wind power in The Netherlands. In the CO-06 group there has been a discussion about the use of Ethanol and it's impact on food prices. Feel free to join the group and add a Discussion Topic that you are interested in talking about.

Invitation to join the NW Renewable Energy Group
I have started a Regional group, welcoming comments, ideas, and suggestions for Renewable Energy in the NW Region. Including states from the Pacific, Cascade and Rocky Mountain areas. I realize that some of my Pickens Plan friends are outside this region, but you are always welcome to join and add your thoughts to the discussion. We should be looking at best available sources of energy in our region, and ways to improve the power grid to transfer energy from region to region as it is needed.

I hope that the new administration will focus on programs to encourage the use of alternative fuels. Conversion of existing vehicles to natural gas would provide a boon to the economy and reduce our carbon footprint, solving multiple problems simultaneously. Based on my limited research at this point, it appears that the EPA is severely restricting entry to this arena by making the approval process cost prohibitive. In addition, fines associated with conversions which have not been certified by them can be as high as $5000 per violation.

If natural gas is a cleaner fuel source than gasoline and we have abundant supplies of this fuel in our country, wouldn't it make sense to start converting existing cars to natural gas as quickly as possible? If the EPA is responsible for approving conversion kits of existing cars to natural gas and natural gas is a cleaner fuel source, wouldn't it make sense to have the EPA speed up the approval process or out source some of its responsibilities in order to have a more immediate impact on our overall carbon footprint? I believe that the current number of existing automobiles that have currently been approved for conversion by the EPA can be counted on two hands. The supply of conversion kits, if produced in this country, and their installation would be a potentially significant source of employment. Combine that activity with the need for testing and permitting converted vehicles at the State or Local level and an additional revenue source becomes available to those entities.

I forwarded these remarks to the Obama transition team prior to the inauguration and have thus far received form reply letters which do not address the questions.

Any suggestions on a means of contacting the individuals responsible for decisions regarding rule changes at the EPA would allow me to track and report back to this group whether conversion processes are being streamlined.

I am optimistic that the Obama administration's actions will mimic their rhetoric if sufficient voices are heard and reflect the will of the people.

A Call to Begin the Remaking of America

Hello to all Idaho Members of the Army in ID-02:

I was very moved this past Tuesday when President Obama gave his motivating inaugural speech. He challenged America with these words:

"Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and begin again the work of remaking America"

I thought about how Boone at age 80 already started the Pickens Plan movement this past summer and the Army was almost 1.4 million strong and ready to take action.

How this was time to implement the words our our new President and every person in our country must leave the "comfort zone" and the Army would lead to change the course this country is headed.

We have finally received our 1st Call to Action (CtA-1) and NOW every member must show the resolve determination that We have in backing Boone and make the Pickens Plan a reality that will lead our country away from foreign oil dependence.

The challenge is in front of us.... Take action.... call your elected leaders and ask them to support the Pickens Plan that's in the Stimulus Plan.

Imagine the impact 1.4 Army members will have in our desire to turn this mess around.

Please make sure your voice is heard and counted, so that our country will begin the remaking of America with the Army and Pickens Plan leading the way.

Finally, Ask yourself are you doing your part...being pro-active, providing leadership...demonstrating that you are willing and able to contribute to the cause.

The Army need you!

Thank-you for your support,
Jim McCue
