PickensPlan

Team,

The Virtual March is in less than 4 weeks (April 1-3) and it's time to pick up the pace.

Specifically, Boone is asking district groups to focus on the following areas:

1. MEETINGS/CONFERENCE CALLS - Each district should plan a district meeting or conference call in the next couple weeks to discuss how to take action between now and the Virtual March. Materials for hosting a house party/meeting are available at the Resource Center.

2. RECRUITING OUTSIDE GROUPS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE VIRTUAL MARCH - We've been recruiting third party groups (i.e. American Wind Energy Association, Owens Corning, AEP, AutoNation, etc) to participate in the Virtual March with their memberships/employees.

Boone is challenging every district group to find at least one local group or business that is willing to participate in the virtual march and communicate with their members/employees to get them involved. As you recruit organizations, please report back so we can recognize them on the list at the Virtual March page.

3. LETTERS TO THE EDITOR - Boone would also like to see each District attempt to get 3 letters to the editor in support of the virtual march placed in local newspapers. This is a great way to get the word out to a large number of potential supporters. Make sure to include the web address for the Virtual March in your letters: http://pickensplan.com/virtualmarch

4. NEW MEMBER RECRUITMENT - Continue recruiting new supporters. Boone has set a goal for 100 new members in each district over the next 4 weeks - signed up specifically to participate in the virtual march. With the involvement of everyone and a little teamwork, we can make this happen!

5. MEMBER OF CONGRESS MEETINGS - Schedule a meeting/call with a Member of Congress or staff to discuss their position on energy legislation and ask for their support..

I know this is a lengthy list, but this is what we've been preparing for all these months. This is THE reason we have organized ourselves as the Pickens Plan. It's go time! With your help pushing these initiatives, we will ensure that energy independence becomes reality.

Cheers,

Micah Lauer
Regional Leader

Listen up you guys, I've been working on getting people in Bozeman where I live to join the Montana District Group. Just word of mouth seems like it is starting to work. As for recruiting 3rd party groups and businesses, I would think we should go after North Western Energy. It would be a big win for the Pickens Plan if we could get North Western Energy to sign on. I hope you all are interested in trying to make this a goal of the Montana District Group. Get back to me and let me know what you think!

Thanks for all your support, Dan!

I recommend getting in touch with your district leader Jerry McDonald to coordinate efforts!

Cheers,
Micah
