Lets talk about the Natural Gas Act of 2009

* Posted by PickensPlan on November 12, 2009 at 2:28pm in Natural Gas Discussion Group

Believe it or not, we are already in the middle of November!

Be sure to ask your U.S. Representative and your U.S. Senators to support The Natural Gas Act of 2009, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Click here to support the NAT GAS Act of 2009.

Information is key when it comes to Natural Gas. Especially if we want to offset imported diesel to power heavy trucks.

You can read all about Natural Gas by clicking here. Information on the importance of getting Natural Gas Vehicles rolling in the United States can be found by clicking here.

Feel free to share your thoughts!

Is anyone else working on community media or a member of Portland Community Media? I am a TV photojournalist/documentarian and would like to help get us on TV.

Here's a quote from the WSJ article...

"The basic idea is simple: Algae are little machines that convert solar energy into oily material that can be processed into biofuel. Technically, it's possible to harvest a batch of algae, process the oils into fuel and run a combustion engine like the ones in cars and trucks. To get more oil, just grow more algae."

Is any one interested in a news article I read about extracting oil from algae? It's still in the works, but the news might be interesting. Go to Russell Gold, the author, at russel.gold@wsj.com

Thanks for listening!

Invitation to join the NW Renewable Energy Group
I have started a Regional group, welcoming comments, ideas, and suggestions for Renewable Energy in the NW Region. Including states from the Pacific, Cascade and Rocky Mountain areas. I realize that some of my Pickens Plan friends are outside this region, but you are always welcome to join and add your thoughts to the discussion. We should be looking at best available sources of energy in our region, and ways to improve the power grid to transfer energy from region to region as it is needed.

Larry Sigurdson Comment by Larry Sigurdson on February 5, 2009 at 9:19pm
The Stimulus Bill isn't a stimulus bill. Neither is it green or truly supportive of alternative energy. It fails to accomplish the goals of energy independence as supported by most thinking Americans and it fails to achieve many of the other goals advocated here.

Rather the so-called Stimulus package is a giant pork-laden bill that piles on 1 trillion dollars of national debt that even our grandchildren won't be able to pay. The result of this boondoggle bill is higher taxes, increased government regulation and a socialized, national economy.

The greatest casualty of this stimulus bill, if it passes, which I'm hoping it won't will be our individual freedom. I support energy independence for America, but not at the cost of our freedom and liberty.

Some 200 years ago, Patrick Henry said it best, "Give me liberty, or give me death!"
