I'm sorry for the time delay, I was up until 4AM and ran out of gas (no pun intended). I will take the time to answer everyones comments and suggestions. I am humbly a spectator right now and thank everyone helping, providing ideas, and mentoring. This is new for me. Here are some of the ideas already passed to me that I've been able to read. It was suggested an artist's representation of what the bond will look like be up on the site. I'm definitely not an artist, possibly if more than one is submitted we can take a vote on what is best and put the top couple on this page? I had a comment about possibly contacting a local news station. Awesome idea Tony!!! If a couple small news stations hear about this maybe a larger syndicate will take it the extra mile and then it will start to reach the hearts and minds of many more Americans. Great idea on contacting the US Treasury department, I tried calling on the phone and reached a "negative Nancy" (I hope there is no members on the group named Nancy and no offense meant, it just ryhmes). Several faxes and letters may make it to the Secretary of Treasury himself. I will check more comments after eating breakfast. Thanks for all the support! There is no "I" in the word teamwork and united we will stand but divided we will fall.
Best Regards and with Respect,
Mike Kendall

There are those who say that there is no sacrifice small enough to ask of the American people. These are the people who cut taxes for some American while other Americans were fighting and dying in Iraq.

In WWII Americans bought War Bonds. It was a small sacrifice. Now is the time for Americans to buy US Savings Bonds for Energy Independence. These bonds will help finance the effort while inspiring Americans to folllow and support the program.

Thank you.

Check out the blog post : 'A Strong Middle Class Equals A Strong America' Stay tuned for more information on green jobs following the Middle Class Task Force’s, first meeting on February 27, 2009 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We'd like to hear from you!

Blog post added by James Everitt:

Washington, DC White House – President Barack Obama today announced the creation of a White House Task Force on Middle Class Working Families to be chaired by Vice President Joe Biden. The Task Force is a major initiative targeted at raising the living standards of middle-class, working families in America. It is comprised of top-level administration policy makers, and in addition to regular meetings, it will conduct outreach sessions with representatives of labor, business, and the advocacy communities.

President Obama said: “The strength of our economy can be measured by the strength of our middle class. That is why I have signed a memorandum to create the Task Force on Middle-Class Working Families – and why I have asked my Vice President to lead it. This is a difficult moment. But I believe, if we act boldly and swiftly, it can be an American moment - when we work through our differences and overcome our divisions to face this crisis.”

Vice President Biden said: “America’s middle class is hurting. Trillions of dollars in home equity and retirement savings and college savings are gone. And every day, more and more Americans are losing their jobs. President Obama and I are determined to change this. Quite simply, a strong middle class equals a strong America. We can’t have one without the other. This Task Force will be an important vehicle to assess new and existing policies across the board and determine if they are helping or hurting the middle class. It is our charge to get the middle class – the backbone of this country – up and running again.”

Glad to see this group set up. Keep up your good work.

I have sent this suggestion to my congressman and two senators, the White House site, RepowerAmerica.org, The Rocky Mountain Institute and the US Treasury Dept.

I sent an e-mail to the US Treasury Dept at the following address:

https://www.treasurydirect.gov/WF/WebFeedback?site=td01&subject=tbill

The site limits you to 1200 characters in a message. Here is the letter I sent:

In WWII, The US Government sold war bonds in support of the war effort.

Selling Energy Independence Bonds for Renewable Energy development would assist with the complex problem of funding the efforts to save both our economy and our environment. Interested individuals could purchase them on their own. Even school children could raise money to purchase Energy Independence Bonds as a class project.

President Obama enjoyed great success using the Internet to fund his campaign. In a similar manner, Energy Independence Bonds could have a web site listing current projects and an “electronic checkout” for purchasing bonds.

We must use every avenue to inspire and organize the efforts of the American people. It is time to roll out Energy Independence Bonds.

Yours Truly,

Mike; you can count on my multi-media support, and financial investment. I will not support a business as usual corrupted Wall Street, BUT I Will Invest in these "Energy Bonds" rightly upholding my conscionable public trust unto God-Earth-and Man. Sincerely:William "Leland" Luster/L.V.,Nv.

Hello Michael. Eventually you will wind up at the door of th Treasury Secretary of The United States of America. I would think a rather direct approach would be most effective at this point in time. Especially in light of President Obama's transparency policy. I would say "Just go for it" and submit the suggestion directly.
