Is it true?

Do we get the government that we deserve?

And if so...why do you think we deserve the government that we have?

In the opening dissertation on this group's main page it is written:

"They have worded their campaign election laws as to hinder a 3rd parties equal participation.
"They have ignored the will and happiness of the American people to better themselves.
"They have sold their office to the highest bidder to better themselves.
"They have altered the American economy to benefit themselves and others.
"They have allowed our great country to become dependent on foreign countries to better themselves and others.
"They have failed to protect our borders to benefit themselves and others.
"They have governed with special interest and are governed by special interest to benefit themselves and others.
"They have squandered the power given to them by the majority.
"They have abandon the American labor force .
"They have written tax laws with loop-holes for the wealthy to benefit themselves and others.
"They have acted in a manner unbecoming the office they hold.
"They have let the tort system operate unabated to benefit themselves and others.
"They have protected their offices from the American people to their benefit.
"They have ruled with fear and hatred to suppress their fellow man."

Again, if we do diserve the government we have, and as the points cited above indicate, it is not a government that one could even genrously call constructive...WHY? HOW? did we ever get to a place where we deserved such a government as this?

One of the many hats that I wear is that of a carpenter. In carrying out my duties as a carpenter I encounter a diversity of problems. And in the course of coming up with solutions to these problems it is not uncommon for me to assign the cause of the problem to an incorrect source i.e., an incorrect why. However, I do not realize that I have chosen an incorrect why or even question it (I'm so certian that I've got the correct solution for the problem) until I enact my solution and discover that the problem did not resolve. In other words, I did not have the real WHY. And...until I am able to spot what is really the problem (sometimes it's so obvious that I can't see it and sometimes it's something that I would've never even imagined) the problem will not resolve.

Why do we, the American people, deserve this government?

If we have not isolated the real WHY, then we will not be able to resolve the problem. Yes, we could come close but close does not a solution make. If we were digging for gold and missed the vein by an eigth of an inch we still missed it. In fact, if we are attempting to solve an incorrect WHY we may only serve to compound the complexities of the problem thereby only enhancing its endurance and formidablity.

Now I am going to ask four very difficult questions that I do not have the answers to but perhaps we can put our collective consciousness to work here and make some discoveries. Here are the questions:

1. What is the exact problem that we are trying to solve with the Energy Party?

2. What are we identifying to be the real WHY that is the source of this problem?

3. What is our solution to this problem?

4. How will our solution resolve the problem?

Thank You.

O seems to be going in the right direction with his latest epistle. He must have been reading all our input. Don't quit now. Let him know what needs to be improved in his latest stimulus package. Governments can only make the rules which allow people to act independently or in groups to 'make it happen'.

Since the 'Energy Party' is just as capable of managing a group in every community as it is of managing a group in every state. We could do without the State Governments. It was something that was important in the old world that communicated with hand signals, town hall meetings and pony express, but in to-days world, it will be the community leaders that will plan, organize, staff, direct and control. . That is why I think that an old world type third party is not the way to go. The whole process of Government has changed. A virtul party would allow us to exercise our 'future memories'. We can pretend for a while and have some fun. The State Governments can organize the cheer leaders and football teams.

Learning, by definition, is change.

Boone is building : a network, a neural network, a brain network, an organic computer,. We are all part of an evolution experience because we have been confronted with a situation for which we have no ready made response. The absence of effective behavior precedes the emergence of effective behavior. As guinea pigs in 'interesting times' we are all learning.

This forum system has the novelty and cognitive routines necessary for a successful learning machine. Everyone is important and if what we think is good gets adopted by everyone else, our vision of the future will guide decisions by anyone 'in charge'. Our network (virtual Government) does not even need to bother with that expensive voting nonsense.

We need to rebuild on substance, not credit or unbacked currency. Wasn't it Reagan who spent money on defense and helped to push us out of a recession? What if we started producing windmill components so we don't have to rely on China for this? If we going to send taxpayer money to the big three couldn't we close one and convert them into making something of value to green energy needs of the U.S.?

My friends do we just give up to the apathy, laziness and greed so prevalent in our society, or do we patiently endure as we sincerely attempt to discourage these traits from infecting us on a personal level? We at this and other websites are supporting positive communication with others, who are likewise righteously busy inspiring hope for a better human/earth tomorrow. It is our duty before our creator, to stay the course of good intention and action unto our earth and its diverse human population. We all conscionably know what is good for this cause and what is not good for this cause, and we shall all make a choice personally that will mark our charicter unto others. Please!!! Don't stop sharing your (socially needed) positive input regarding the subject of reasonable and responsible energy planning. Without the technical input you folks offer here, us who are not aware will not even know THAT TECHNOLOGY is availiable. We will find an answer if we keep sharing in good communication with each other on the given subject. Respectfully, Leland

"Controlled Greed" is a term that I would call an oxymoron. And trust me I am being kind in that assessment. If we, and I mean humanity are to get passed the current world problems, it will be a shift in context that is radical from the small steps that business and government are making.

First and foremost we MUST stop looking at either/or as the solution. It is not about socialism vs. capitalism, it is about love and compassion for life, and being in service to those in need. Food, energy, health care, shelter, even education are all commodities in a capitalist society.

How can a civil society justify determining the who can afford to eat or who can afford health care? How can these people sleep at night knowing that their profit making will cause starvation and death to countless people the world over?

Show me the justification for all this and how it serves the highest good of all concerned and I will never try to help others unless I can see how I can profit by my actions.

Walk the path of peace embraced in the arms of love,

Fred

Since we are pining the philosophical here, the reality is what you make it. It is obvious to me (and seems evident that it is also for you) that we are constantly recreating the reality we live in based on our experience and knowledge. What is true is that when enough people get tired of getting kicked in the rear, they revolt against the reality and create a new one.

I agree that there is something wrong with "the system" but disagree with their being no justification. Banks justify putting people on the street all the time. Finance companies justify repossessing vehicles just as much. They have justification to their shareholders and depositors to remain solvent. But they also have unethical and greedy execs that take good care of themselves and whatever is left is what we get.

The truth is that we are basically benevolent but we are taught that, "it's a dog eat dog world" and that we should do it to others before they do it to us. It is not how it must be, we can choice at any moment to act differently. And being a person that has no religious affiliation or particular belief in rewards in the hereafter, I see the benefit or consequences of my actions all the time. I have no ostrich head-in-the-sand delusion that giving out flowers and hugs will solve the world's problems. But if I can show one other person that it is our free will to choose how we operate in life, and that choosing either way will have its prices and rewards, then possibly others will begin to choose a loving and compassionate path.

I appreciate your perspective and hold no ill will towards you, in fact I welcome the challenge to my context of being, for without it I would not have any measurement to see if I am doing well. But the yardstick used to measure greed, socialism, and capitalism is not the same tool used to measure love. There is no comparative measure between them, as they represent a dichotomy that for me are not symbiotic, rather they are mutually exclusive.

If you want to change how the world looks, start be changing how you look at the world. Or not, that is your choice.

We have got what we deserve by letting the gov't walk all over us.
So many Americans will sit and bitch about the gov't.....
How many people actually write to thier congressmen and write to letters to the editor to make their voices be heard?
We have become complacent while the gov't slowly chips away our rights and letting the greedy bankers and Elite powers take more control.
We are in the midst of changing to a one world gov't..... first the currency, it's on the way....
Our gov't are just monkies to the poeple who REALLY rule the world.
The New World Order is really who is charge.

Here is my email for day 4:
Everyone is looking to our leaders in Washington DC and our state houses to help provide The USA with comprehensive plans that give each individual the chance to compete and live what has been called the American Dream.

This work is not easy or it would have been done over the past 50 or so years. But this work is vital if we plan to retire, give to charities, build new communities, breath without chocking, and be productive and healthy.

A plan to help the survival of humans and all other living things on earth while giving Americans a competitive advantage is now required. We simply can not avoid the hard choices of funding Social Security, Medicare, energy, education and health care while watching the peak of oil, in fact the peak of almost everything-even humans.

Today, many in the world community are pushing for these types of reforms on their leaders. Therefore, the time has come for leaders to lead. That is what leaders do when facing seemingly insurmountable problems like the USA’s long term effects of buying imported oil. When faced with a healthcare system that the nation pays for that could cover everyone but only the select are covered but costs everyone. Leaders lead when they see our education systems are not giving the knowledge we all need. Leaders look for new solutions when the environment is not better than the one our parents left us. Leaders show leadership by giving and helping charities and those in need with their time and resources.

Funding Medicare is going to have to mean big changes in our medical system. Not only to put patient information on computers, fund new medical research, educate a new generation of professionals, but take a stake in that research, education, and efficiencies. New drugs funded with grants, research done at schools, or even research loans will need to give up 20 percent of ownership to fund Medicare.

Building out a new energy system is not going to be easy and many are going to object. But as new dams are needed to fight climate change, reducing sewage treated water and getting that water out of our rivers, developing new concentrating solar locations, and advancing natural gas for transportation. Some will find fault, but leaders will stress the importance of humans thriving. Even here as grants are given out, we have to have a return beyond taxation.

When leaders see multiple beneficial effects, they make those changes happen. Education is one of these. To improve health care, we need better educated applicants. To help fund Social Security, we need improved percentage of graduates for high school. To build out our new energy system we need applicants with education beyond high school. One of the big changes I want to see is state colleges offer more degrees on line. Take California, where a new system could combine all online classes into The New UC Online Campus. Students would save energy, the school would save energy and our nation would be better off for the change.

We are looking for leaders to make long-term commitments to renewable energy, promote united health care, new education for our children, the military and in prisons. The way to do this is to create the infrastructure; the way to pay for this is to advance a pollution surcharge, and a new progressive national sales tax. I hope you will join me in this effort to help get our house in order. Our work toward ending imported oil may just be starting but we are taking great strides in improving our environment, our national security and allowing us to become wealthy by investing in renewable energy, inventing new technologies, and most importantly investing in our economy.

I hope you will join me and 250 million other Americans to move forward with education reform, Social Security reform, health care reform, renewable energy, and transportation using electric cars, natural gas trucks, and renewed conservation efforts, all with an eye to help reduce imported oil. Only by planning for tomorrow can we go forward with hope and new pride in America.

I honestly believe if we were able to solve our Energy Problems with the cleanest, most efficient resource known to man, it wouldn't matter. The reason why, is we have a Government that would Spend $1000.00 to save $1.00 and call it a success, while passing the Lost revenues onto our backs like they do with anything have done and will continue to do. From what I've read Wind Generated Power is great until the wind stops blowing, and Solar is not as efficient as they say it is. I also believe we are worst than sheep in that we all are acting like an Army of Ants. Each organization is an individual mound, too busy building it to realize the Steam Roller Federal Government can just simply wipe it out and render it useless to the American People along with the Puppet Media Machine. Further more, the Government has for the past several decades does not want the Sheep to have access to voting. I say that because of the Historically low numbers of Americans who come out to vote. Working Americans would be more prone to vote if it was Super Saturday, don't you think? But to all of you who are in this Blog, do you understand there are people who can't afford to miss one hour of work? I doubt it. And so much for a Third Party having a chance, Democrats and Republicans like Control, and want to keep all the Power. Same old Crap! More Government isn't the answer...It's the Problem! And by the Way...There isn't any Global Warming...IT'S ALL A BIG LIE!!

I do agree that global warming is not caused by humans. One volcanic eruption will spew more GHG and pollutants into the atmosphere in one day than all of our annual vehicles exhausts do. And you are also correct that it will not be by actions the government takes that we will see any results that will better our energy independence and economic issues as well.

The answers may be simple, but to handle them it takes courage, and that is sorely lacking within Congress. They will not even handle their Constitutional obligations, and We the People allow them to get away with it, and complain to each other.

The number one problem in America today is our currency system. We have a private entity that dictates fiscal policy in secret. The Federal Reserve System will end the Federal Republic of the United States of America, and subject the citizens of the late great nation to assimilation into the North American Union along with Canada and Mexico. We will be issued a new currency, which is rumored to be called the AMERO and like the Euro is now, it will be valued and controlled by the Central Banks, who are the secret bankers behind the Federal Reserve System.

Americans must unite and have Congress repeal the FRS act. We must also have Congress take its Constitutional responsibility to coin currency and set the value thereof, as it was meant to be set by our founders. Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, Thomas Payne, and a host of others warned the citizens that their freedoms were not guaranteed, but they were won in battle and it is our duty, our patriotic obligation, to be ever vigilant against those that would take that freedom from us.

Our energy concerns will be handled by combining solar and wind, adding tidal power for coastal regions, and concentrated solar in those areas best suited for it. We have to stop looking for a simple and quick fix, a one stop shopping trip that solves it for the world. We have to think locally first, and see what works best community by community and collectively how to share that city-wide and then county and on to state. We are states first, united in commerce and trade and unified military forces to protect us all.

We also must mature as people and realize that everything we do will impact on others downstream, as we are always downstream to someone else. Do as you would have others do , and so it goes. When we cooperate as neighbors, and extend that out to our nation, that will be how America grows strong and independent. We become less dependent on foreign sources and more interdependent within the nation. We support one another to compete in the global markets, but because we all are supporting the other, that global market is not what is needed to "survive" although it will provide benefits to those that do. And it will be the government's obligation to protect our interests, so that we get a fair trade of value based on real tangible worth in quality and performance.

Ending the Fed must be the primary focus. Once we have a sound currency with real value, then our buying power will be stable and can only get better based on the GDP and what other nations demand of our goods and serves may be. But we will no longer be dependent on any factors other than our own production as the driver in our economy.

That will spark the R & D that will produce new energy products that are clean and efficient and recyclable so that manufacturing costs in energy and material are reduced. We will then achieve real energy independence.
