If for some reason or the other we can not accomplish Mr. Pickens Plan with the new congress and senate in the first 100 days after they assemble in 09, I would like to be ready with another movement that will enable us to make our own changes after the 2010 elections. We are here for a common cause that is worth fighting for and I believe will bond us together. Our economy in in shambles, our environment is threatened, all because of oil, big banks, big business and their congressional ties.

Join with me, lets be prepared to raise up and be heard and back up our words with action.

Our great nation has to become energy independent or many of us will suffer, economically stable or many of us will suffer, environmentally stable or many of us will suffer and die.
T. Boone Pickens has started this snow ball effect in the energy sector of our lives and I applaud him, and I whole-heartedly support him and his project. I have seen this snow ball of suggestions turn into an avalanche of hopes and dreams for many of you and me.

When in the course of events and with what has conspired in the past weeks, months, years with the economy and environment we must include these Efforts with energy if we would survive. I have said in other discussions on this forum, and I proudly say again, I am a nobody from the middle of nowhere. I am a husband, a father, a carpenter, a businessman. I have tried like so many of you to sway my congressman, woman, and government to work for we the people, and use the power we have bestowed upon them, truthfully, clearly, righteously, with honor for we the people. As one we are nothing to them. As many joined together in a common cause we are a powerful force to be recognized and have voice that will be heard
The failure of our two party political system to lead, protect, defend, and secure this great country is why I take pen in hand and try to set right the wrong our government has conspired with.
Therefore I create this group with the fervent hope that we the people can band together, and with justice for all improve on the words penned below. Feel free to voice your opinion, add to or subtract from the pledge. T. Boone we support you, will you support, help and guide us.
Our forefathers started an avalanche in their day, I have seen the support for our legacy sway. Please let this be our time, to this end I pray.
This pledge is taken from the greatest document ever penned “The Declaration of Independence of The United States of America.” I in my feeble and humble attempt have reworded this great document to reflect our times. Please read, reconstruct, add to or change, but do not criticize, I am very thin skinned, lets discuss energy, lets discuss the economy, lets discuss the environment, we are all in this together. If change is what they want, change is what we will give them because I am tired of waiting for them to change.

We the people of the United States of America in order to form a more perfect government and stop the insanity and greed of our elected officials and the ability of big money to influence said officials have bonded together to form the Energy, Economical, and Environmental Party with and in the Pickens Plan.

It is the right, privilege, honor, and duty of each member of our great country to preserve protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, and To right the wrongs beset upon them by the presently elected two party political system.

When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for the people to oppose these political bandits and the corruption to which they have become connected, and to re-establish the integrity and honor of the powers of the office bestowed by their fellow man, and the respect of the opinions of the people and that mankind requires that they should adhere to the will of the people when elected.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. They have squandered the power given to them by the majority.
They have abandon the American labor force
They have written tax laws with loop-holes for the wealthy to benefit themselves and others.
They have acted in a manner unbecoming the office they hold.
They have let the tort system operate unabated to benefit themselves and others
They have protected their offices from the American people to their benefit
They have ruled with fear and hatred to suppress their fellow man

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated silence. A politician whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Criminal, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

We have warned them from time to time for their lack of governing and corruption. We have reminded them of the circumstances of their corruption. We have appealed to their since of justice with no avail. We must therefore set the record straight and fine it necessary to denounce them as a reprehensive of the people and endeavor to remove from your seat in the great halls of our government and hold them accountable for their actions.

We, therefore as the people of the United States of America in general assembly appealing to the good people of each state and district for the morality, goodness, and decency of our intentions, and by the authority of the good people of these United States, solemnly declare that if elected we will serve the will of the people we represent. We absolve all allegiance with those who would unlawfully profit from our reward granted by the people. This is not an attempt to find a presidential candidate at all because history shows us when a 3rd party aims for the White House they fail and we take two or three steps back and stumble to the ground becoming comical fodder for the media. This is to encourage people to run for congress as a 3rd party candidate in 2010

In addition to the planned Alias from ZAP, the electric vehicle company reportedly wants to branch into the electric pickup truck market as well. According to the latest in a long line of press releases from ZAP, the company has completed the engineering stage of a project to develop a four-wheel electric pickup. The company claims it plans to build the new EV right here in the United States using parts and components largely sourced from U.S. suppliers.

We surmise that the electric truck would be built alongside the Alias at the delayed ZAP Motor Manufacturing Kentucky plant in Franklin, Kentucky. To make this goal a reality, ZAP has reportedly applied for a $160 million loan from the U.S. Department of Energy's Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing (ATVM) program. We're not sure if this would be the Zap Truck that's featured on the company's website or something new. Check out the press release:

ZAP Completes Made in USA Electric Pickup Engineering Project

SANTA ROSA, CA -- Electric vehicle pioneer ZAP (OTCBB: ZAAP) has completed an engineering project to develop a four-wheel electric pickup with the majority of the parts and components supplied by US companies. This initiative is in line with the company's ongoing efforts to restructure its operations to focus on US production, particularly in the electric truck arena, as well as in the recent announcement regarding the American manufacture of the ZAP Alias model.

ZAP is uniquely positioned to see its corporate ethos dovetail with government policy. The March announcement of $2.4 billion in federal stimulus funds specifically earmarked for the creation of next generation, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and advanced battery components, coupled with the Obama Administration's commitment to domestic job creation and "green" economic development, promise to place renewed emphasis on the purchase of alternative fuel vehicles manufactured and built in the United States.

"Although the larger automakers are looking into electric vehicles and have even published release dates, ZAP is one of the only companies that has experience building low-cost fleet vehicles," said ZAP CEO Steve Schneider. "We are assembling a roster of suppliers that can enable ZAP to grow in the future, including one partner that builds more than four hundred thousand vehicles per year. Through our affiliate partner, ZAP Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, we hope to have a USA base that can build large quantities of 'Made in USA' vehicles for fleet and consumer applications."

Earlier this year, ZAP Motor Manufacturing Kentucky (ZMMK), based in Franklin, Kentucky, applied to the Department of Energy for a $160 million loan application. The DOE has made $25 billion in loans available to qualified carmakers and suppliers building advanced technology vehicles in the US. ZMMK President Gary Dodd expects to build the vehicles in Kentucky pending funding from the DOE.

"I'm looking forward to applying my experience from the auto industry on this project," said Dodd, who worked as a general manager for the Toyota plant in Georgetown, Kentucky for 12 years until 1998, then started his own business building plants for Toyota and other automakers.

In WV we make lots of power from coal (99%) but a large amount of that power goes across state lines to other states. All other power made here (hydro, wind and natural gas) is 1%. When we run out of coal we will turn to natural gas. We in WV also have the largest natural gas find in deep shell. (marcellus). We have lots of dams that are just starting to make power.

developed world 4.2cent per KW.
Might it be all that wonderful flowing water producing all that Hydro-electricity in the very State that produces the majority
of the countries Coal...

Here is the plan on the oil front

Politics is about compromise.
There will be no compromise with Obama's agenda for authoritarian marxist control.

Had PP been successful in obtaining low cost conversions of cars to run on NG last summer then GM and Ford and Chrysler might have offered the conversion themselves to unload excess inventory and those driving CNG cars would have had more disposable income which would have prompted more purchases of GM automobiles. An increased demand for NG might have increased price of NG but the fall back position for the consumer would have been installing electric ground source heat pumps replacing NG heating using the generous 30% tax credit and utility company rebates of $750 per ton. And as we just saw in February oil prices would have plummeted due to decreased demand. The reduction of disposable income had an effect on the solvency of mortgage holders which may have been still significant enough to cause the Wall St. crash. I expect though that there would have been only a correction ameliorated by more rosy picture of future energy costs and independence from oil imports. But oh well T. Boone focused on his windmills and not fuel costs.

I suggest take the PP to the states and tell the marxists to go take a hike.

Every state is unique in its consumption of energy, renewable energy resources its desired mode of transportation, its pollution impacts, its degree and nature of industrialization, its degree of urbanization, its culture and diverseness of its people and in its citizens. HR 1835 along with all the other legislation is transcending state lines in a national dialog about energy policy. The federal government cannot rise above or go beyond the limits of the states as this is a republic. All powers are held by the states unless specifically granted to the federal government. The federal government has not been granted the power to dictate a national energy policy

All of the legislative meddling is all about more powerful intrusive centralized control of the citizens energy and information consumption and not about the price of gasoline which was the whole point of the PP. Meddlers from one state are attempting to apply their failed social and energy policies to all states. CA emmisions standards are not applicable to the country as a whole. Nor is Washington states nearly emissions free hydro electric generation available to most states. And certainly CA social policies a $21B state deficit model one that all states will rush to embrace.

This is the perfect example of federal meddling and its effect on a states budget.

driving more jobs off shore
I see no change!!!!!

T. Boone has got to refocus the PP on the states
1) The states can overrule the EPA rules on NG conversions
2) The states have the NG distribution infrastructure
3) The states have a dire need to reduce costs for the state government and its citizens
4) The states can react quicker and with more cooperation and less obtrusiveness
5) The states can implement the needed legislation independent of the federal government

Missouri natural gas consumption goes from:
1. 152 billion cubic feet (home and commercial heat) to
2. 229 billion cubic feet (no home heat but add natural gas for vehicles)

Missour realizes
Savings from CNG for vehicles $4.57 billion dollars.
Savings from GSHP for home heat $1.32 billion dollars.
Subtotal savings $5.89 billion dollars per year.

Missouri GDP increase from
CNG vehicle installation labor income $2.45 billion dollars
GSHP installation labor income $1.8 billion dollars
Subtotal installation labor one time $4.25 billion dollars.
Subtotal installation labor spread over 4 years $1.06 billion dollars per year.

Total additional disposable income of $6.95 billion dollars per year.
As compared to Missouri 2009 general revenue of $8.799 billion dollars.
As compared to Missouri GDP of $33,964 billion dollars.

That comes to an additional $27.81 billion dollars circulated in the
Missouri economy by Missourians over the next four years. Which is
$10,696 for each and every one of the 2.6 million households. This is
wealth that Missourians don't have now because it is exported outside
Missouri and outside the US.

You can see on the state level the PP is easy!
And the PP has a very direct, beneficial, evident, and near term positive impact on the Missouri economy

Here is the plan on the electrical energy front

Part I
DC is seeking a "balance between conservation and reliable supply of energy at a reasonable price"
This is per Chandrashekar Tamirisa

Either DC doesn't know what they are doing or they are marxists seeking authoritarian control
by limiting the ability for individual to save money.
It is the latter, I have seen through their smoke screen.!!!!!

The effect of conservation on the reliable supply of energy
As load is shed through individual conservation measures
after the embodied energy in the conservation measure is recouped
results in
lower utility bill for consumer
less load on the transmission line
less load on the generators
less fuel consumed at the generators (these are the variable costs per kWh)
less pollution from the generators (total SO2 and NO2 is reduced)
Maintenance cost remain constant for the utility (these are the fixed cost per kWh)

The utility is regulated by the states Public utility commission PUC.
The PUC sets the fixed costs that the utility is allowed to charge.
The PUC basis it's judgment on data on utility operating budgets.
As when labor contracts are renegotiated or when capital investments must be made.
The PUC sets the variable costs that the utility is allowed to charge
Usually there is a constant that the utility can charge call it fuel delivery overhead charge
and there is a surcharge which can be added and is function of market price for the fuel.

How in this PUC procedure is the reliability of the supply of energy affected?
The utility is still getting paid its fixed and variable over head costs so it is not there!
So that only leaves the fuel supply chain.
Less demand for coal, NG, oil, and nuclear fuel rods means they have to produce less
Producing less fuel does not effect reliability of the fuel supply chain.
Except in the extreme case of a step discontinuity of demand
Which can't happen because implementation of conservation practices takes time on the order of years.

Relating this statement to 50% of the population who own their homes
means that the marxists don't want individual initiative to conserve
Even though the marxists have graciously provided residential energy tax credits.
The individual will not be motivated to spend money to conserve if there is no reward.
The individual still wants to save money however.
So, The individuals only recourse then is to reduce their standard of living.
Wash dishes by hand, hang laundry outside to dry, not use any time saving appliances
Not use and air conditioner or heater. Basically go live in a cave.

Relating this statement to 50% of the population who live in apartments
Who have no control of of the energy efficiency of HVAC or hot water
As these physical plants are owned by the landlord.
And apartment owners can't take advantage of residential energy tax credits as written.
There are no energy tax credits for landlords that would benefit them.
So the landlords are not motivated to install energy efficient appliances.
The apartment dweller only choice is to again reduce their standard of living
Wash dishes by hand, hang laundry outside to dry, not use any time saving appliances
Not use and air conditioner or heater. Basically live in an apartment which has become a cave

part II
This is where cap and trade then comes in.
Part of the revenue from cap and trade auctions of carbon credits
will be provided to apartment dwellers (lower income individuals)
to offset their higher energy costs
Which then results in 50% of the population living in apartments
consuming as much energy as they always have
The apartment dwellers Remain a part of the energy problem
and these people which are the liberal marxist voting base have been rewarded.
While the other 50% of the population who own their homes pay the bill.

To put a stop to this thievery the states must devise energy tax credits for landlords.
The legislation must have the effect of motivating the landlords in install energy conserving appliances
And the end result is the apartment dweller is benefited by lower energy consumption increasing there savings
And the apartment dwellers then become part of the energy solution

Larry, I'm thinking a worm composting bin will be better than anaerobic digestion, since I don't plan to capture methane gas. I can mix the compost with charcoal from wood scrap biochar material.

Read your blog. I have to admit, sod for the National Mall is a ridiculous expense. Federal Government and responsible budget are not words that work together very well.

In last 10 years SO2 emissions have dropped 1/3
In last 10 years NO2 emissions have dropped 1/2

In last ten years we have added Flue Gas Desulfurization (Scrubbers) to 16,000 megawatts of generation
In last ten years we have added Particulate Collectors to 3,500 megawatts of generation
In last ten years we have added Cooling Towers to 51,000 megawatts of generation

These SO2 emissions controls have increased costs by 1.6 cents per kilowatt hour
These SO2 emissions controls have required and investment of $141 per kilowatt
For a total industry wide cumulative investment for scrubbers of only $2.25B

In this 10 year period 101 megawatts of the 312,000 megawatt coal generators are equipped with SO2 emissions controls.

A remarkable track record given that there was a 20%. increase in electrical consumption over the same 10 year period.

Just think if consumption started decreasing by 2% per annum through implementation of residential energy efficiency and conservation practices.
Your homes Energy consumption can be reduced by up to 85% when
1. Insulation is increased, R24 walls and R50 ceiling
2. air infiltration is eliminated,
3. Other thermal performance improvements, (windows, attic venting, window shading) are made.
4. Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP) with solar thermal assist are installed. and/or
5. Active and passive Solar Thermal (ST) whole house heating is implemented.

Oh but the Obamanation wants to tax energy and bankrupt coal and steal an average of $1600 per annum from each American households which would otherwise be the cash needed for those households to invest in energy conservation practices. And he is doing this to satiate the Eco-Nuts with Carbon Derangement Syndrome and other Marxist reasons that I won't go into here.

Larry, I've never claimed that carbon dioxide was a pollutant. I believe there are natural cycles in the earth's temperature variations. Human actions must have some effect on their environment, if nothing else because of the scale of the actions upon it. I have said that I would prefer not to use coal or nuclear power, but that has more to do with mining, half-lives, and black soot pouring out of smokestacks. I will read your blog post, and look into anaerobic digestion.

Oh, ya, that reminds me, Robert, you should read my blog post entitled - More Eco-Nuts with Carbon Derangement Syndrome!, and, then, if you are still sure that carbon dioxide is a "pollutant" you probably should consider switching your composting operation over to anaerobic digestion, which is actually a good idea, in any case.

I did not hijack the thread as Bod previous post was May 22. Bob jumped in on May 30 to defend kevin's " over-reliance upon elitist clichés and proposing that your uninformed opinion is "going one better" than absolute facts". by saying that carbon is dirty without linking it to global warming. That is illogical. Carbon is only dirty by virtue of its being a green house gas and global warming may be a result of to much green house gas man made or natural.

But Bob will note that Washington state will not be immune to a carbon tax as it has five refineries which more than make up for lack of coal plants. And the old Boxer cap and trade bill included refineries as the means to cap carbon emissions from gasoline. Bob will have a lot less money to raise that child.

Ever since my joining the PP it has been my self appointed primary mission to meet the Marxist "thought police" at the door and bounce them out. By the way calling carbon dirty is in the form of Hegelian dialectic. And didn't I hear recently that the marxist environmental wack jobs are saying that growing your garden adds to the carbon load on the planet.

The obamanation is getting to be real experts of Hegelian dialectic and they have even made more egregious using rudimentary form of psycho-dynamics.
The obamanation first spread rumors with the correct awareness arming characteristics and then execute an action with just the right level of emotional evoking so that the desired centering rest is obtained.

We will witness how Obama's threat of bankrupting the coal industry goes. We will see if he can repeat the GM assimilation but the dynamics are not quite the same. Bankrupting coal will be by his energy tax and not by third parties escalation of gasoline prices. But West Virgina has a GDP of only $39B per annum. So the cap and trade bill would only need to set up yearly payments to WV and someone will attach an amendment to bailout CA. It is interesting that Senator Byrd has become untimely ill with an easily communicable staph infection no less just when he began protestations. This event has taken WV attention off cap and trade while they attend to the health of Byrd.
