We have created The Energy Party and the E solutions, Education, Environment, Energy, Economy, Employment, Equality, Equal taxation, Equal Healthcare, Enforcement of the law, and the Engagement of the military to protect the people of the United States of America and the EFFORTS of all of us to save our children’s future, for our future
Read and digest the words, help write the words, and lets be ready to live the words.
If for some reason or the other we can not accomplish Mr. Pickens Plan with the new congress and senate in the first 100 days after they assemble in 09, I would like to be ready with another movement that will enable us to make our own changes after the 2010 elections. We are here for a common cause that is worth fighting for and I believe will bond us together. Our economy in in shambles, our environment is threatened, all because of oil, big banks, big business and their congressional ties.

Join with me, lets be prepared to raise up and be heard and back up our words with action.

Our great nation has to become energy independent or many of us will suffer, economically stable or many of us will suffer, environmentally stable or many of us will suffer and die.
T. Boone Pickens has started this snow ball effect in the energy sector of our lives and I applaud him, and I whole-heartedly support him and his project. I have seen this snow ball of suggestions turn into an avalanche of hopes and dreams for many of you and me.

When in the course of events and with what has conspired in the past weeks, months, years with the economy and environment we must include these Efforts with energy if we would survive. I have said in other discussions on this forum, and I proudly say again, I am a nobody from the middle of nowhere. I am a husband, a father, a carpenter, a businessman. I have tried like so many of you to sway my congressman, woman, and government to work for we the people, and use the power we have bestowed upon them, truthfully, clearly, righteously, with honor for we the people. As one we are nothing to them. As many joined together in a common cause we are a powerful force to be recognized and have voice that will be heard
The failure of our two party political system to lead, protect, defend, and secure this great country is why I take pen in hand and try to set right the wrong our government has conspired with.
Therefore I create this group with the fervent hope that we the people can band together, and with justice for all improve on the words penned below. Feel free to voice your opinion, add to or subtract from the pledge. T. Boone we support you, will you support, help and guide us.
Our forefathers started an avalanche in their day, I have seen the support for our legacy sway. Please let this be our time, to this end I pray.
This pledge is taken from the greatest document ever penned “The Declaration of Independence of The United States of America.” I in my feeble and humble attempt have reworded this great document to reflect our times. Please read, reconstruct, add to or change, but do not criticize, I am very thin skinned, lets discuss energy, lets discuss the economy, lets discuss the environment, we are all in this together. If change is what they want, change is what we will give them because I am tired of waiting for them to change.

The Pledge

We the people of the United States of America in order to form a more perfect government and stop the insanity and greed of our elected officials and the ability of big money to influence said officials have bonded together to form the Energy, Economical, and Environmental Party with and in the Pickens Plan.

It is the right, privilege, honor, and duty of each member of our great country to preserve protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, and To right the wrongs beset upon them by the presently elected two party political system.

When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for the people to oppose these political bandits and the corruption to which they have become connected, and to re-establish the integrity and honor of the powers of the office bestowed by their fellow man, and the respect of the opinions of the people and that mankind requires that they should adhere to the will of the people when elected.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are suffer-able, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and corruption, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.--Such has been the patient sufferance of these United States of America; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the present two party political system is a history of repeated injuries and usurpation's, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.

They have worded their campaign election laws as to hinder a 3rd parties equal participation.
They have ignored the will and happiness of the American people to better themselves.
They have sold their office to the highest bidder to better themselves.
They have altered the American economy to benefit themselves and others.
They have allowed our great country to become dependent on foreign countries to better themselves and others.
They have failed to protect our borders to benefit themselves and others.
They have governed with special interest and are governed by special interest to benefit themselves and others.
They have squandered the power given to them by the majority.
They have abandon the American labor force
They have written tax laws with loop-holes for the wealthy to benefit themselves and others.
They have acted in a manner unbecoming the office they hold.
They have let the tort system operate unabated to benefit themselves and others
They have protected their offices from the American people to their benefit
They have ruled with fear and hatred to suppress their fellow man

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated silence. A politician whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Criminal, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

We have warned them from time to time for their lack of governing and corruption. We have reminded them of the circumstances of their corruption. We have appealed to their since of justice with no avail. We must therefore set the record straight and fine it necessary to denounce them as a reprehensive of the people and endeavor to remove from your seat in the great halls of our government and hold them accountable for their actions.

We, therefore as the people of the United States of America in general assembly appealing to the good people of each state and district for the morality, goodness, and decency of our intentions, and by the authority of the good people of these United States, solemnly declare that if elected we will serve the will of the people we represent. We absolve all allegiance with those who would unlawfully profit from our reward granted by the people. Having been elected by the people, we establish alliances and support this declaration, and with firm reliance of the people pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred Honor

This is the heart and soul of the ENERGY PARTY and the people of the United States of America.
Past elections, past promises of change, past disappointments of promised change have brought us together to plan ahead of disappointments this time.

This is not an attempt to find a presidential candidate at all because history shows us when a 3rd party aims for the White House they fail and we take two or three steps back and stumble to the ground becoming comical fodder for the media. This is to encourage people to run for congress as a 3rd party candidate in 2010

I don't agree with everything you said Larry, but the end was right on target!

The very real problems of humanity will never be solved, unless we can find some common ground and understanding between youthful idealism, middle-aged pragmatism, and elderly conservatism.
My caveat to Buddhist philosophy - "Everything is as it should be", "until you can find a better way!"

We definitely do need to find a better way. Dropping the Public Option for Health Care is pointless. Then it just becomes a bill for Insurance reform. We need a Public option to cover those who cannot afford coverage, and no insurance company is going to step up and offer something that any of those people (including myself) can afford. A non-profit organization, or government run health care option is needed for low income, uninsured Americans. If we can't find a solution, then we can just watch them die off, with or without "death panels."

I have been out there in the Town Halls and on the picket lines with them, Robert, and I can assure you that isn't it at all.
Only an idiot would plan their retirement around the promises of government.
These folks have been furious ever since they called and wrote their Reps. and Senators in droves of hundreds to one against the Welfare for Wall Street Bailout, but a majority of those elected representatives totally ignored the prudent and sound economic advice of their constituents to vote for the bailout, anyway.
That was the Democrats in Congress voting with the Federal Reserve Bankers, G W Bush, and his investment banker Treasury Secretary, with a very small percentage of irresponsible Republican lawmakers joining in, all of which will be made to pay for their sins come the next election.
When will you start to hold your Dem. reps. accountable for their actions?
As all spending must originate in the House of Reps., the majority party controls what bills come to the floor for a vote, all bills must be approved, first, by both Houses, and the President has no mechanism whatsoever for forcing any bill to the floor for a vote, the Dems have had total control of spending for the past 2 1/2 years.
So, what is their problem, who do they really represent, and when will you liberals hold them responsible for their crimes against the People?
The beauty of you and very few other liberals, Robert, is that, at least, you are intellectually honest enough to recognize and admit to your own bias, tho' it would be nice if we could all stop pointing fingers at each other and saying, "But, they are worse!"
There is plenty of venom to go around from both extremes, but the extremists are not the majority, and you sorely misjudge, malign and villify that majority if you claim that they are too stupid to recognize the truth, that they are spreading lies, or that they are being moved by irrational fear.
You folks should respect your elders enough to realize that, just maybe, they do know something about all the lessons that life has taught them in all their many years.
They know full well from the history of government on this Earth that their every fear is completely justified!
When you become fully enlightened to the real motives of all governments, I am sure that you will come to agree with them.

Larry, I think what concerns senior citizens the most is that they have planned their retirement around medicare and social security. The social security was in trouble even before the financial collapse, and now there is talk about changing the heath care system. many believe the stories they hear on the radio, TV, and read in the newspaper, and are afraid for their future well being.

I personally believe there is a lot of misinformation being put out by the opposing party, and if the same proposal was put forward with a Republican stamp on it, there would be similar opposing arguments from the Democrats, although I don't see that same venom coming from liberal media as the conservatives put out. But, of course, I have that bias in my viewpoint.

Yes and No, we must not assume that first all uniting issue will be a "green" one. We can build consensus on any initial agreement.
We must be objective and flexible, not dogmatic and doctrinaire, unwilling to ever compromise, like the Libertarian Party National Committee, that has doomed the LP to failure.
I have long been amazed at the irony of a bunch of fanatical defenders of the "free market" being unable to accept the necessity to package their product (a party with innovative ideas for real political solutions) in a marketable form.
We need to follow the basic rules of marketing for good business, that is to listen and speak to the needs of the consumer (of ideas), thus our potential constitutents.
The people have already spoken, are we listening?
All the uproar in the nation is at the Town Hall meetings, today, but Healthcare is merely the trigger, the common straw that broke every camel's back, and brought the most powerful political class to the streets, seniors!
Seniors have the most political power, because they have had the most time to amass the most wealth. Money buys power, and always will.
What the people are really so furious about is irresponsible deficit spending on all these fascist/socialist programs that everyone knows will soon come back to bite us in the form of higher taxes, and, worse, the destruction of the value of our dollars, both in savings, and future earnings, by inflation.
Seniors know the importance of living within your means to build wealth, and they do not want anyone destroying the value of what they have built, then exercising a usurped power of life and death over them, on top of that.
They are absolutely furious!
I know this, because I have been out there with them.
So, Robert, figure out how we can turn this into a Grey/Green Swarm, but keep the budget balanced!

We need a working coalition. Libertarians, Energy party, Green party, Environmentalists, etc. banded together instead of splitting into useless minorities with no effect on the BIG TWO.

Larry, I can't really fault the human instinct for "more", in its basic involvement. We should want "all the above;, this, that, and the other thing" if we are to keep the momentum moving to have enough extra to boost the rest of the world through moving past the mistakes we went to get to this point. We just need to develop enough for everybody in the class. The responsibility in the management comes from making the stuff that works, work for everyone.That responsibility (from what I see) is lacking in the "management" we support in our national forum.

example: this week our NM PNM power utility wants to repeal the meager co-generation law, to allow only generation locations specifically authorized by PNM to supply the grid with solar power according to their contract (no more "sell the excess to the grid for use when the sun is dim" / much less any 'free trade for CLEAN energy' momentum potential). Guess what coal fired political is behind that garbage. The new high mileage elect. autos may be able to move the objective through the back door -eventually- with people adding the less expensive DC only storage to the garage for the autos, but , well, too little, too late.

In any case, here is the latest in my "cool home/low expense" post; If you place the exhaust fan on the opening to the crawl space in the attic (to vent the warn afternoon interior house air out under the eves) it should be adequate enough to do the job, with minimal noise/complication. You can use a simple timer, or a dual thermostat (interior to exterior temp trigger) to power the fan, but you will want to move enough air to -completely- replace the interior air volume every 1/2 hour, to flush the house volume completely, about 5 times each night.

The trick becomes where to place an opening/pressure fan to pull in the coolest night air, from a healthy/safe source. The opening for a non-pressurized system will have to be about the -accumulative- size of a sliding patio door. That means quite a few open windows. You possibly could use a A/C system to move new air into the enclosure at the same time, (connected to a separate timer), in place of the passive intake, but it would use more power. A secure -fresh- air opening to a foundation crawl space would be best, but be carefully what type of vapor you pull up from that area.

Manufactured housing would require more investment in the ceiling structure (no crawl space), but it could be worth looking into. For apartment dwellers, I would suggest a couple of box window fans, and timers. Maybe this will save someone a couple of bucks, and improve the living/developing conditions for some of us "not so financially inclined"...

I have put forth my workable ideas on how we can win here before, but it seemed that few could see the logic of it. I would be happy to look it up and repost it, if anyone is interested, but I am a might busy tonight.
Having been active in the Libertarian movement since 1976, I have fought this 'third party' fight in the trenches for 33 years, now.
I am sure that I must have learned a few things in that time
This substantial experience has taught me to be realistic and pragmatic about our chances. There is a way to win, but we have to use guerilla tactics, and, above all, avoid futher splintering, as you say.
BTW, William, I can't say I ever read anything unrealistic from you. I usually see your points as quite clearly reasoned, and agree with nearly all of them.
And, I hardly think anyone could fault your occasional need for speed in your Porsche as hypocrisy. They are not that thirsty. That is a far cry from admonishing all the little people, barely scraping by, just trying to get back and forth to work, and provide for their families, then jumping on your private jet to fly off to another place well served by commercial airlines to rag on another group of poor working stiffs.
I wholeheartedly agree with your point on the need for technical knowledge and specificity in our leaders.
We need to stop electing lawyers and elect engineers, if we really want to solve problems! Preferably, not with doctorates, that used to work for NASA or the UN!
Obama would not know a fact if it slapped him up alongside his pretty boy head.
Oddly enough, if one actually reads the 7 comprehensive energy plans that he sent to Congress annually, GW had a much better grasp of the technical aspects of our energy problems than most gave him credit for, but he could not get anyone, from either party, to sponsor the legislation he proposed.
But, if they had, we would be burning a lot of Hydrogen by now.
On patents, before you set your opinion in stone, you need to study Jefferson's original system, and the simple logic behind it, then deeply consider the ridiculous unintended consequences brought upon us by these later bureaucratic complications of "prior art" and "patentability".
On humans, they are the same as they have always been, because human nature is self-serving and inalterable. They have always been enslaved by their selfish desire for "bread and circus". But, someone reached us, and we can reach them, also, tho' we must employ the media they are addicted to, then appeal to their most banal instincts, designing a new circus to focus their pursuit of their own selfish desires upon courses of action which will be most beneficial to all. It is like child psychology on a global scale.
We who dies with the most toys is still dead, but he who lives with the least complication lives in blissful satisfaction.
