If for some reason or the other we can not accomplish Mr. Pickens Plan with the new congress and senate in the first 100 days after they assemble in 09, I would like to be ready with another movement that will enable us to make our own changes after the 2010 elections. We are here for a common cause that is worth fighting for and I believe will bond us together. Our economy in in shambles, our environment is threatened, all because of oil, big banks, big business and their congressional ties.
Join with me, lets be prepared to raise up and be heard and back up our words with action.
Our great nation has to become energy independent or many of us will suffer, economically stable or many of us will suffer, environmentally stable or many of us will suffer and die.
T. Boone Pickens has started this snow ball effect in the energy sector of our lives and I applaud him, and I whole-heartedly support him and his project. I have seen this snow ball of suggestions turn into an avalanche of hopes and dreams for many of you and me.
When in the course of events and with what has conspired in the past weeks, months, years with the economy and environment we must include these Efforts with energy if we would survive. I have said in other discussions on this forum, and I proudly say again, I am a nobody from the middle of nowhere. I am a husband, a father, a carpenter, a businessman. I have tried like so many of you to sway my congressman, woman, and government to work for we the people, and use the power we have bestowed upon them, truthfully, clearly, righteously, with honor for we the people. As one we are nothing to them. As many joined together in a common cause we are a powerful force to be recognized and have voice that will be heard
The failure of our two party political system to lead, protect, defend, and secure this great country is why I take pen in hand and try to set right the wrong our government has conspired with.
Therefore I create this group with the fervent hope that we the people can band together, and with justice for all improve on the words penned below. Feel free to voice your opinion, add to or subtract from the pledge. T. Boone we support you, will you support, help and guide us.

Please read, reconstruct, add to or change, but do not criticize, I am very thin skinned, lets discuss energy, lets discuss the economy, lets discuss the environment, we are all in this together. If change is what they want, change is what we will give them because I am tired of waiting for them to change.
The Pledge

We the people of the United States of America in order to form a more perfect government and stop the insanity and greed of our elected officials and the ability of big money to influence said officials have bonded together to form the Energy, Economical, and Environmental Party with and in the Pickens Plan.
It is the right, privilege, honor, and duty of each member of our great country to preserve protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, and To right the wrongs beset upon them by the presently elected two party political system.
When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for the people to oppose these political bandits and the corruption to which they have become connected, and to re-establish the integrity and honor of the powers of the office bestowed by their fellow man, and the respect of the opinions of the people and that mankind requires that they should adhere to the will of the people when elected.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are suffer-able, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. They have failed to protect our borders to benefit themselves and others.
They have governed with special interest and are governed by special interest to benefit themselves and others.
They have squandered the power given to them by the majority.
They have abandon the American labor force
They have written tax laws with loop-holes for the wealthy to benefit themselves and others.
They have acted in a manner unbecoming the office they hold.
They have let the tort system operate unabated to benefit themselves and others
They have protected their offices from the American people to their benefit
They have ruled with fear and hatred to suppress their fellow man

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated silence. A politician whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Criminal, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.
We have warned them from time to time for their lack of governing and corruption. We have reminded them of the circumstances of their corruption. We have appealed to their since of justice with no avail. We must therefore set the record straight and fine it necessary to denounce them as a reprehensive of the people and endeavor to remove from your seat in the great halls of our government and hold them accountable for their actions.
We, therefore as the people of the United States of America in general assembly appealing to the good people of each state and district for the morality, goodness, and decency of our intentions, and by the authority of the good people of these United States, solemnly declare that if elected we will serve the will of the people we represent. Just a separate concept, that I have found in my "explorations". Maybe you can use some part of it...
A house interior has a lot of significant thermal mass. The trick is to cool/warm that mass at a time when the energy temperature is available. The second part is to incorporate a system that is inexpensive (and thus less intrusive into the architecture as well).
For our southern neighbors, I would suggest looking into some sort of system to "flush" the home air completely between the hours of 3-6 AM. Some way to open specific windows to a high volume fan circulation system, to cool the walls and furniture down to 65 deg. F may go a long way to reducing the A/C bill in the summer months. The key is to move substantial amounts of air, without a lot of noise / expense, so placement is key. You would be surprised just how much a standard insulated home can retain during the day....(not for everybody)...

Sorry about the delay in posting. A lot has been presented since.
I think there is -some- good news on the energy fronts, in that GM;,... FINNALY.. released their concept of a electric motor prime driven car. Hopefully it is enough of a shot across the bow of the oil/energy monopolies that they will start moving in different directions.
As for the government (and all the cr*p included with that environment), I still support term limits. Bring that concept up in a few town meetings, in an organized fashion, and see if you start getting a better response!
In Will's response to my post, I have an inactive A&P Cert., and have been in electronics for the last 15 years. I built a home to find out what would work in the new energy apps. and spent most of my money in the process. Still, that house will be out in Rio Rancho NM for about the next millennium, in one form or another, and I got enough information (of the kind they don't teach in the colleges) to build the next one out of my social security checks, so I don't feel disappointed in the experience. Now, a lot of other people can qualify for the 'new' home process as well, because of what I researched.
Anyway, I will build the road version of the control / pilot containment enclosure first, and test the specifics of that part of the concept on the highway. Then I will build the aircraft (or some form there of) -I like the idea of letting the aircraft sit on the tarmac all day, absorbing solar, (ref the Lancair electric motor concept) and being able to commute home in the evening to escape the traffic,... could be a popular girl. I don't particularly like props, but we will see what is available by the time I start on the plane, it will be a while.
With my budget, the aircraft will have to be tested the "old school" way, sandbags, and flight testing with no canopy, and a good parachute. Yes the foam and wing form will need secure rigging, and a correct measure of foam mix. That is on reason I have the wing a delta shape; better security with less bracing, and the foam is applied with the wing narrow end towards the ground, so expansion is consistent during fill. Not a big fan of Burt's works, they all seem like something out of Dr Suesse, and difficult to reproduce. I would rather go the other way, ignoring the .5% efficiency gain, with a simpler format that about anyone could -reliably- duplicate.

I read a post on one of the discussion boards suggesting it be incorporated into the Libertarian movement, and while possibly not ideal, it would avoid further splintering of the vote into powerless fractions. Any input? WCE

Well Larry, I may be unrealistic sometimes, and habitually try to see the glass as half full, most of the time. That's why I tried to focus on Mr.Gore's seeming grasp of the technical aspects of energy, which is again, better than any I've encountered in government, which to me, for the most part, is a sad joke. When I was involved with a composites fabrication facility working with polyester resins, I called the local EPA office in good faith to get their regulations on styrene emissions. Their answer was "uh, has anyone complained?"...I said no, they said "Don't worry about it". I've encountered similarly appalling ignorance and lack of interest in the patent office, the CDC, the federal EPA, DOT, NHTSA, FAA, and every branch of the military. And in my opinion, local government is a total waste of breathable air. Again, this is why I was momentarily heartened to see a man connected with the government who actually has some knowledge and interest. Obama never once said anything technically specific, in my hearing anyway. When a society is so completely dependent on technology and industry as we are, I think the leader should have a basic understanding of the hardware.
As far as hypocrisy goes, I've cut my own waste and carbon footprint to the bone, even to the point that some of my friends stay away because it's either too hot or too cold in my house for their comfort. I indulge my own hypocrisy occasionally though, and every time I fire up my old Porsche to go for a run in the mountains, I smile from ear to ear. At least when I'm driving an old car, it's for intense pleasure, so to me it's not wasted. In truth, one of the reasons I got interested in conservation and alternative fuels many years ago was so that I could continue to indulge my occasional need for speed with a clear conscience. But when most of my neighbors are burning through way more hydrocarbons than I am, while they sit in 10 mile an hour traffic, well, what's the point of me getting my old hot-rod running on hydrogen?
As far as patents go, the process itself is financially do-able on one's own. It's when matters of infringement hit the courts that the deepest pockets win. The matter of prior art belongs where it is, as it allows the determination of originality or novelty of an idea, hence patent-ability. Just my opinion.
All that aside though, what I'm beginning to see the glass as half-full of is getting darker, thicker and smellier by the day. I really don't believe that the masses give a damn about anything but continued access to their bread-and-circuses. And I don't see change in a positive direction happening because it's rational or because it's the right thing to do. The sheeple ( I really like that) will do whatever is marketed to them most successfully, so they don't have to think about it. That's reality, and the glass is full of it. William Engwer

Why was Jason banned? Just because he was discussing Health Care? We can continue those discussions at Energy Party ning site.
That is where we can freely discuss any topic and organize a 3rd Party for 2010.

Quite a bit to digest in one sitting, Larry. (burp) I do like the way you bring things down to basic inputs and outputs. We may not be the most wasteful society, but we have plenty of room for improvement. I do think that our awareness has been raised, and progress is making its way into American social structures. More recycling, higher mileage vehicles, making home improvements to save energy, all are becoming more important to us.
So many things to cover between corporate bonuses and entitlements for the poverty-stricken. From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs. Doesn't fit with our society. We need a fair way to provide help to those in need, without penalizing those willing and able to work for a living. There must be some sort of public service for public assistance program that we could devise. Will work for food, welfare, and health care.

William, I cannot agree with you on your support for the hypocrite, Al Gore.
His own carbon footprint is twenty times that of your average wasteful American in just one of his many houses, plus he flies around in a private jet!
Fly coach, or shut the hell up, Al!
I do agree that he makes a sensible sounding speech, but then, so did Obama!
The proof is in the pudding, and Gore had his chance!
He, now, has ulterior motives for his every position that is just like Boone's, their own fat wallets!
