Hi!
My name is William "Bil" McDavid. I have 6 patents (4 U.S. and 2 foreign) on a wind energy conversion technology which I call WinDynamo. I am attaching two descriptive papers and some visual aids which suggest future applications for this technology.
I have been working on the details of this for a long time, and have good reason to believe that this technology can solve all the challenges faced by conventional wind energy devices, which I call WinDinosaurs, because they are noisy, place great stress on their support structure, require much maintenance, and are not suitable for deployment in heavily-populated areas. WinDinosaurs also kill birds and bats, and some, even environmentally-aware, people consider them visually intrusive.
WinDynamo is a vertical-axis device, and therefore can incorporate a flywheel to reduce the amplitude of the oscillations in electrical output caused by the variability of the wind. It is also adaptable to compressed-air energy storage, and can run on a relatively small compressed-air turbine when there is no wind, or not enough.
WinDynamo has no external moving parts, so it cannot damage or injure surrounding structures, vehicles or people. It can safely and effectively operate in lower and higher winds than WinDinosaurs., which have a very narrow range of windspeeds in which they are operable and productive.
I have finally had to admit to myself that I do not have the business, scientific, engineering or financial wherewithal to finish this job, and have to spend all my time and energy keeping food on the table and the wolves from the door.
It is quite frustrating to know that you have a big part of the solution to what ails the world, and to keep striking out in trying to persuade those with more than enough capital and business acumen to even educate themselves about it enough to decide to invest some deductible R&D money to find out for themselves whether they can make a lot of money and benefit the world with this technology.
