I sent the following letter to the Congress at the urging of a National Association of Realtors advertisement in the New York Times. I considerably edited their form letter and below is its content:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As your constituent, I'm writing today to urge you to pass a housing plan that will grow our economy and benefit all Americans.

Each day, many people are finding it harder to get by. Experts agree that our economy cannot recover without an end to our housing and lending crisis. We need a common sense, straightforward plan to deal with this, and we need it now.

The country needs a housing plan that will encourage targeted lending for newer generation homes that are consistent with the nation's energy and environmental goals and makes mortgages affordable.

Tax credits for forward-looking home purchases, proper loan limits from the FHA and other agencies by decennial zipcode median prices for single family dwellings, and appropriate policies, structural and institutional measures to align mortgage rates better with the federal funds rate are all critical in today's difficult environment. One example is a proposal reported in the news media for the Fed and the FDIC to be able to make proxy payments on defaulting and/or defaulted mortgages and another could be to incentivize bank lending for green homes.

Help unlock our economy now. Please take action as soon as possible to pass housing initiatives that will grow America's economy.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Any of you who may be interested in doing the same may adapt this letter or use it as is for your purposes.

Leland,

We fully agree with your support for Pickens efforts.

As the past few months have shown me, the various folks that can, are doing something about the effort. Those that can't are stirring trouble in many groups.

I have a particular agenda that would be of use to Picken's Plan and have had a few offers of assistance from those in the various disiplines involved.

I fear that many of us and the fantastic concepts, we all have exhibited here, will fade away. The dissenters are upon us.

Our company will probably just fade away as the politicians and crooked bussinessmen (not Pickens) well how else to put it???? They will STEAL every nickle of this travesty that is being voted on today. (just my opinion)

It will be up to groups like those that are promoting the funding through Energy Bonds and such. Good luck if the government gets involved though. I don't really like the Banks doing it either.

On to better and brighter days and hope my fears of this new administration are all for not. I will continue to fight the WAR on Energy Dependence as best I can with what ever skills, knowlege and hope that I can provide.

Should my best dreams come true and the new administration is right ( I can in no way hope they fail, that means America fails) and we have a complete and fantastic recovery over night. We all will share in the better world that WOULD evolve from the "PipeDreams" description I have heard. (from the new administration).

Again, this is just my opinion, but as well as, my pledge to support the efforts of the Pickens Plan members.

Michael; in my networking task I have discovered two kind of people, those who support whole heartedly what Boone is doing and those who would deride him via their skeptical closed mind. The fact that He is putting His time-energy- as well as personal fortune into this Other-Centered endeavor, should resolve any question as to His Charictor and Intention (but allas)? The self-centered rarely get involved with a plan that would benifit all, but I won't judge their apothetic excuses for Non-support (God will). Boone is creating a common front or Banner; for us to bring The Sustainable Independent Energy Question to the forefront of major media attention, and I for one shall support him. Leland

Go green with home solar energy systems, residential wind power systems and useful information about how solar energy works, when you shop the Alternative Energy Store. Choose from G E Imagination at Work: PLUG INTO THE SMART GRID

Home solar power systems - Start out with a complete kit, or create your own home solar energy systems when you shop their site for solar resources for your home - solar panels, solar tracking arms, solar water heaters and other innovative solar power supplies. Harness the clean, infinite energy of the sun when you install solar power panels instead of relying on expensive oil, gas or electric for daily energy needs.

Residential wind power - Set up a home wind power system for your home, farm or business . Let the experts at the Alternative Energy Store teach you about getting off the grid and installing clean wind power generators

Portable solar power for your RV - Take your clean power on the road. Check out the options for solar power for a home on the road. These compact units let you minimize your need for connections as you travel, giving you the flexibility to enjoy more remote locations far from the hustle and bustle of commercial campsites. Look for foldable and rollable panels, too.

Energy efficient appliances - Check out their selection of battery (DC) and 100% gas refrigerators and freezers for completely electricity-free operation. Or consider energy-efficient tankless water heaters and washing machines for the performance you need without waste.

Solar battery chargers and controllers - Use the power of the sun to charge small and large solar batteries, and battery banks. Create an array for off peak energy availability, or use a charger for household rechargeable batteries to power handheld electronics such as iPods and 2-way radios. Add a solar electric charge controller to charge batteries safely and efficiently.

Hydroelectric energy resources - Check out the micro hydro turbines for a new and renewable source of power for your green lifestyle.

Solar power inverter - Convert the DC (Direct Current) from your storage batteries into useable AC (Alternating Current)to poer ordinary household electronics and appliances. Choose a simple model to power lights or small appliances, or a more sophisticated model that lets you power your whole home or sell excess energy back to the local utility grid.

Both franchising alternative energy businesses (as Christopher Tidman's background seems to be in) and providing funding for it is something I had suggested in District Leader discussions and it is good that these suggestions have found resonance in Focus Hope.

Dear Michael; thank you for your devotion to our general Citizen Well-being and Planetary Enrichment; but mostly for your devout inspiration to others to do that which is right, before our mutual Creator/Christ. Truly you are serving as a military man at present, but it is my personal prayer that you and your shipmates be blessed with all protection and victory at every hostile encounter. We the freethinking people of These United States, clearly recognize the true hero's of our rightfully stated "Most Great Nation America". Well done Michael; persevere unto the end of this temporal test, and be assured that you are well beloved and honored by Him Who Exalts The Righteous among us. Your fan, William "Leland" Luster
