Let's Get some SUN

I really want to get totaly off the grid .Solar would be best .And I would be glad to share any I did not use.
My family and I live week to week ,so money is a problem.The state only offers $2000.00 back for what you spend.It will cost me about $25,000.00 Or $30,000.00 for me to be set with back up batterie,s and all.
So, does anyone know what I can do to get this done without starving to death?.
I am willing to work as hard as it takes to do this as soon as I can.
