Thank you WIZ for the info-

I agree! Thank you for the resource.

Greetings, Thank you for your comment. He was referring to the old containment systems that are no longer working- and that cleaning them up is dangerous in itself. The old barrels that were buried were not the best containment system idea. We may have better methods now, but still it is a problem. We do not have a safe way to deactivate these waste materials and time- often a very long time is the only answer- and that is not a viable solution. It is a shame about the city that was sold out. The Chernobyl disaster also serves as a reminder of how dangerous nuclear plants can be. While some propose that they are clean- the waste product and dangers of melt down cannot be denied. They are a bad idea- just ask the frogs and citizens of 3 Mile Island- especially of those who died of leukemia before their trials went to court. Now, they want to put two nuclear plants in Central Florida and want the citizens to pay for it when they do not want nuclear plants here. It is a concerning thought that we did not even get to vote on this issue. Common sense should dictate that a nuclear plant on sand and in a hurricane state alone is a bad idea. While some say the risk is minimal- so was the melt down at 3 Mile Island.

I agree with you on the solar and wind. There is no excuse for Florida to not be using them. We do not need nuclear here- period. This project needs to be stopped.
I am glad to hear about other countries developing clean energy. Thank you for that information.

I welcome your comments and info. I will not get bored. Maybe together we can make an impact. Thanks.

Dianne, Obviously my name isn't Joe and I am not sure which state he is from, since the very few Atomic/Nuclear plants that we have are not the culprits to water being polluted with radiations. Likely, in that area, there is a naturally occurring source, or some company has done something very dangerous and allowed someone the store nuclear waste outside an approved area. The government is urgently seeking such information, so they can remove such threats as they appear, so our country is without such incidents. Still, some events do occur and some are in Oklahoma, as in the Superfund site in Northeastern Oklahoma. It was so bad, an entire city was sold and bought out, so they could remove the surface soils! Still, I agree that solar is the best opportunity for America in the next 10 years. No other fuel type is as renewable and storage capable, since the latest discovery of how to use water as a storage source by simply converting it to hydrogen and oxygen and then using those fuel elements to make other fuels. Still, wind is very close to being one of the best, since it does not pollute and has a long life for each engine/generator. In tandem the solar wind mix does the best for rural America, but in the cities, solar should be considered 99% of the time, with only Geo-thermal able to come close to the same results. Conservation also is not being done and for good reasons! People have just never been taught how to apply conservation processes to a significant degree. In Russia, specifically in St.Petersburg, the city has huge heater systems that generate steam all over the city, and each building has an access location for steam to enter and leave to be reprocessed. It is definitely an efficient way to deliver heat over large areas in conditions that demand that it be working most of the time. Still, the processes could be better if the systems used radiant heating coils instead of radiators. An International company could clean up on this process if there was a way to determine how to get the circulation process working in a macro environment that has to radiate the heat and return the water in a fairly rapid process with very high pressure thresholds. Still, it could be done and would save them thousands of dollars in heating costs per building. So, in short, there are millions to be made if you can design the next radiant heating processes for large scale building structures. Same process goes for the sky scrapers of America. With radiant lines in the floors, the heat is better distributes and people are more comfortable even when the cold is very intense. And the overall costs are reduced, since the heat goes where it is supposed to go, namely up, but not out. Looking forward to talking about a lot of processes here. Hope you don't get bored. Dianne,
The old statement goes like this, "If we don't something, nothings going to happen . . . But, its what don't happen (that is happening now) that's going to kill us."

Energy is essential to civilization but, as it is produced now, polluting. The international stage for improvements isn't going to change the show for sentimental of altruist reasons. We will have to bring new technology to market in new ways with a different marketing scheme that appeals more to the aspirations of farmers, and small local suppliers of industrial items that require power to produce their wares.

There are millions of these customers around the world, but they are basically ignored in favor of derivative swap insurance schemes that ultimately go pop and spread poop all over everything. As a result nobody wants to touch anything or anybody else till some time has passed and then we get stagnated and depression sit in. In some places a guy with a gun gets the bright idea that he can solve the problem if he can just decrease the population of farmers and manufacturers. The rest is just history repeating its self.

A change on a global scale has to have a solid stable and fertile garden to be initialized in. I am proposing that the USA is such a place and could serve as a leader in pushing the kind of technology exchange that will be required to get this planet off, dumb. Please, consider this a quid-pro-quo invitation to investigate a solution to these problems by doing a search on the keyword "Elephant" in the PickensPlan site.

Solar

According to an analyst called "Joe", who had extensive experience with energy sources, it is time to change our energy sources or face serious consequences. This individual explained that after years of experience with nuclear plants, oil fields, and other energy related sources, his conclusion was that we should convert the all plants to solar immediately. He confided in me that radiation has leaked into the environment and the water shed. He said that cancer would continue to rise. He said that it may already be too late. He was also in strict opposition to the oil companies and felt that there would be a day of reckoning against them.

We discussed how solar could be used. In reality, we could take one of the western states and set up a solar hub that would collect all the energy needed for the United States. This energy can be stored and dispersed. This could be a free energy source. Imagine little old ladies not worrying about their energy bills! Now this should excite those that truly are in the energy business to create energy. We also discussed water and how it is very important for humans to use water that has been cleansed by reverse osmosis. Creating clean sources of energy would contribute to cleaner water for everyone. He indicated that our water shed was in serious trouble.
