Anyone who is interested in going to the DNC or is in support of the Picken's Plan this is the place to meet others, have discussions about the DNC and energy independence and organize to get our voice heard.

We are in a time that needs our input and action, regardless of party affiliation we must hold accountable the politicians who promise to strongly pursue energy independence for America. There are already many different groups and tons of people attending the Democratic convention in Denver with protests ranging from immigrant rights to ending the war, we need to be part of this event further showing that renewable energy is one of the most important issues in the election. The DNC is a perfect opportunity to organize demonstrations, teaching events and other activities to show our level of involvement in helping to change our nation one person at a time.

Anyone who is attending the events in Denver or has any ideas of how we as a movement can organize to get our message heard please contribute and we will start with this group and carry our momentum onto Denver.

Boone has just announced that he will be doing a speaking engagement down in Denver with Carl Pope the executive director of the Sierra Club, that's a pretty great alliance which will help the plan immeasurably.

Hi Robert...I love this quote...and I wish I knew where it was from! Just wanted to share it with you...
Government is the servant of the People, and not the master of them. The People, in delegating authority, do not give their public servants the right to decide what is good for the people to know and what is not good for them to know. We insist on remaining informed so that we may retain control over the instruments of the government we have created.

I'm sure someone out there knows where its from!

It would really be great if we could some how get everyone to the DNC & The RNC.

But the reality of it for the most part is that people just don't have the Money to go, as much as they would like to. Do you know of anyone that can sponsor a Bunch of folks to go. Some one that can book an entire hotel and airfare, Sam has all the T shirts And Hats we can all hit the streets and pass out Flyers prior to the Convention and get people all worked up about the Pickens Plan.

Our Voices will be Heard.
It takes Money any ideas suggestions of where we can get it.

Boone will not be at the DNC and that is why is all the more important for us to attend or at least find a way to pass on the message that we so hope to be heard by the attending activist community, the delegates and Obama and the rest of the democrats as well. I currently have 10 or so people coming from the west coast (including Cole Hoover who posted the Plan for the DNC which I think is absolutely right) to the DNC along with others from across the country. We are talking with various sections of the demonstrating community down there about putting on an educational seminar and with the PP about getting literature to hand out and use to spread a definitive plan for our further action. There need not be a huge demonstration at the DNC the idea is just to get as many people talking through whatever venue they can reach about the Pickens Plan and more so about renewable energy and how citizens can push the government to strive for it. That's why its important to get as many people who will already be attending the DNC on board with a well articulated message to make friends with and pass on at the convention. So if there is anyone who will be attending or knows how to get in touch with PP members down there please message me or Cole Hoover to get the ball rolling. Thank you so very much for everyone's input, help and suggestions.
We are in a position to change our country by creating a constant presence at places like the DNC, the RNC and beyond even past the election. Our voice will be heard and they will be forced to go along with the public sentiment if we are targeted and organized to achieve the change we want.

I won't be going to the DNC, but you can add my name to the list of people who want the Pickens Plan made part of the Party Platform for this election. What does Obama think of this plan???

Is Boone gonna be there? What better way to advocate his plan.

I appreaciate the invitation. I recall Churchill's first broadcast after assuming the office of Prime Minister at his nation's darkest hour: "...we have differed and quarreled in the past; but now one bond unites us...". Their bond was to fight Nazi tyranny, our bond must be to fight, with equal safrice and rigor if necessary, to break our suicidal need for foreign oil.

As one who has not supported the Democratic Party I feel a special obligation to cast off my partison robes and to speak to what I beleive our united goals, and the actions to achieve those goals, must be.

First we must agree that the gravity of the situation demands an end to petty name calling and the usual unproductive tit for tat that is so much a part of our nation's dialog and an obstacle to solving any, let alone this, most grevious problem.

My Democratic friends, we can disagree, and we should always defend our postions as is our right and duty, but we simply can not, and therefore must not, allow something of such import to be denigrated by fruitless babel.

My recommendations to the DNC, as to any person or organization that has a stake in this issue is simply this:

We must do everything we can to minimize and ultimately eliminate our dependence on foreign oil. I do not say we should, or even could, ever buy a drop of oil from somewhere beyond our borders, but one has only to look at the recent events in Georgia to witness the type of naked aggression and petro-blackmail that will likely be used by totalitarian states in the coming years.

We must do it all - wind solar, nuclear, biomass, and yes, petroleum exploration. That is the only postion that makes sense as we move to transition the mass of our energy consumption to more renewable, and environmentally appealing choices.

We must reach common ground and act on exactly how, and in what manner we develop and use all these, and other domestic sources, but everything should be on the table in Denver, Minneapolis, Washington, DC, and the nation as a whole.
