We are working on the upcoming job site www.Green-Jobs-Now.com
Tell us what would you like to see in a job site as info, features that will help you such as a Resume service or Tips for success at an interview.
We listen to you. This is a new Industry. New Rules.

What professional/career opportunities in Alternative Energy are in the Southeast? I read about new alternative fuel sources being made in South Carolina, but never see any job postings... I would like to see more opportunites in the southeast of the country. Thanks for creating this group!
It seems as though the skills needed in this new market place aren't limited to those currently taught in the school system. How can I acquire marketable education? Is there a group that looks for high creative ability first, past and current work experience second?
Hello Jeff
This is a very good point. We are already working on this. The new site has an entire section on green education and info on how to transition to a green job. Stay tune.
Melissa,
I have the same question as JasonL but my area is in Connecticut. For people like me who have been in many different fields, how can those skills transition to a Green Job. Thank you for creating this. :)
Thanks for your comment Debbie. Following the last few comments, we will start working on Connecticut and South Carolina to ultimately cover all states. This discussion is really to locate the needs to apply resources.
Please, I would like to know if there are any entry-level positions in this job list. I doubt that I've had much work experience that could transfer to a green job. So starting at a lower level and working up in an actual green industry... That would appear to be the best/most practical way to gain experience, I suppose.
To answer your question: some private companies and government entities will offer entry level positions, internships and on the job training positions. There is a section in the future site dedicated to these offers. You are not alone. To make you smile, I am attaching 2 resumes I just got from applicants for on the job training opportunities. They never held such job positions before, but I am convinced one of them will manage to get the job advertised. You will too. The Green Industry is new. There will be a lot of entry-level positions coming up. Believe me and stay tuned.
Melissa,
I would like to see job prospects, training opportunities to be able to install and service solar or wind, and investment opportunities for Green Businesses and Energy.
Thanks,Ed
I would like to see people with green plans get together with those that have green financing. Sometimes the green jobs are not yet available and need to be created before someone can be hired.
