Back in 1979 I worked for Hawaiian Sunpak and selling solar hot water heating roof panels - basically the caddy of the industry at the time. I was researching PV's and presented a plan to Hawaiian Electric to install PV panels on residential homes throughout the islands, of course with an easement that included the roof that would permit power generation back into the grid. My dream at that time was for every roof every electric customer play a part in relieving the burden that shipped in oil presented then and the worst environment later. It still can happen. At that time Hawaiian Electric quite literally scoffed at the idea and said that PV's were not efficient, and the riskiness of pulling electricity back into power lines was unacceptable. Besides PV's were costly, had poor life expectancy and getting that kind of participation from residents wouldn't ever happen. Well, here we are almost thirty years later and the support is strong, the need is so much greater and most if not all of the reasons not to have been overcome. So what are you waiting for Hawaii? Do it!

The Pickens Plan campaign will be hosting an “e-Rally” after the debate on Tuesday, October 7th. Instead of a "chat", this time we’re going to have a live video feed of Boone, and chat rooms where participants can talk amongst themselves. There will also be an option to submit questions/comments for Boone to answer. The campaign will be giving a list of all the questions/comments to each of the Presidential candidates after the e-Rally.

The event page is here

I encourage you to RSVP early and submit questions/comments in advance on the events page.
We want a large turn out and the servers will be ready, so tell your friends/family/neighbors/co-workers to sign-in and sign-on!

I have written my senators, congressmen and friends. I have written Puna Geothermal Venture to ask how I could help push the geothermal. What else can I do???

I may be able to help. As an intermediary specializing in funding large alternative energy projects in the US and globally, I would be happy to look at any serious business prospect. mlswaner@fmtcblue.com

Hello Kimi; our radio show last friday was with some students at one of the largest high schools on the big island!!

We have been looking for a non-profit to collaborate with on EnergyTalk LIVE and the Green Mechanical Council, which are dedicated to education outreach for clean energy development.

There still seems to be little effort to get people trained as Pickens organizers; or to reach out to younger people who will be voting for wars or clean energy...we do not seem to have the mental capacity for both.

Kite For Sail is a kite power company located on the island of Maui, Hawaii.

We are developing kite systems to give boat owners a solution to reduce their fuel consumption. ........ Kite For Sail is now introducing the F-10 fuel saving kite - a new compact kite system for vessels up to 40 feet in length. The F-10 generates 10 horsepower under optimal conditions and can reduce fuel consumption. The kite also serves as alternative propulsion encase of engine failure. The team at Kite For Sail has been developing kite systems since 1999. Their focus has been on creating safe reliable performance systems that enable multipull launch and retrievals at sea. This is a good introductory system for all types of boaters.
