PickensPlan

Dear Friend,

The response to the Pickens Plan over the last two weeks has been incredible.

So far, more than 70,000 people have joined our effort. Another 80,000 people have signed up to get email updates. More than one million Americans have gone to our website.

But major change is never easy and we need all the help we can get.

That's why today I'm issuing a Call to Action and asking people to hold a Pickens Plan House Party this weekend, July 25-27.

I would appreciate it if you'd invite your friends, family, and neighbors into your home for a conversation about the Pickens Plan, and for you to lead a discussion about what steps we can take to encourage our nation's leaders to take action in breaking our addiction to foreign oil.

The House Parties are an opportunity to:

- Introduce more people to the problem of foreign oil
- Learn about solutions like the Pickens Plan
- Show the Pickens Plan video
- Start planning regular meetings and events
- Brainstorm ways to sign up more people
- Identify opportunities to speak to larger groups such as church groups, business associations, service clubs, etc.

Even if you can get just 5 friends together for a half-hour chat and get them to sign-up for Push.PickensPlan.com, that's a big victory for the campaign. And if you need to host your house party another night, or would like to host it at a restaurant or some other location, that's fine too.

I want to see first hand the great work you're doing, so be sure to take pictures and video of your event and send them to Boone@PickensPlan.com, and post them on your own page at Push.PickensPlan.com for everyone else to see.

If we work together, we can create a movement that the politicians can't ignore. Then, and only then, can we bring about real change in America's energy policy.

Let's get started today.

Regards,

T. Boone Pickens

I would like to know if there are any members located in Boise, ID. Is there anyway we could, together, plan a "united" house party within the Boise? Let me know! I'm somewhat new to Boise, and haven't hit the "five friends" mark yet!

Well, I suppose it must start somewhere with someone. I'm here (The Galveston Bay Communities of Bayview, Bacliff and San Leon) and I will begin an effort for our local. Thanks T. Boone for the great work you're doing. You are an inspiration and we all should do our part. Care

My wife and I are having our annual (7th year) get-away with 5 other couples... we rent a large (6 bedroom) log cabin in northern Michigan woods... we canoe, raft, golf, and just goof off for 5 days... there is NO T.V. or Radio and cell phones usually don't work till we're near Ludington... this year I'm going to make sure they're all aware of Pickens Plan... being from the motor city, I'm amazed there isn't more being done using Natural gas for cars... the automakers are missing a big oppurtunity I think...

Hi Bill,
My name is Chuck Clemens and I live in West Branch. I have a cousin in Wyoming, MI who has been recycling for 40 years and who is very much involved in turning herself "green". In fact, she sent me a slide show this very morning (which I couldn't download in 30 minutes because I have a dial-up Internet connection ). Also, I keep in touch with a large network of radical leftist peaceniks in the Alpena-Cheboygan-Traverse City area that could be motivated to get involved with the Pickens' Plan. I think most people are fed up with the status quo who would get involved if there was a highly motivated leader (I'm talking locally - not on the T. Boone Pickens level) that could get them organized.

I complety agree. I am distraught that the US auto industry does not seem to exploring the idea of natural gas. I hope that some one form the big 3 gets on borad! Heather Ruby

We have formed a Cape Cod and Islands Community Pickin's Plan Initiative. Anyone interested in joining can contact me directly. We will be hosting a regional "Pickin's Plan" conference shortly. Thank you Mr. Pickins, through a collaborative effort we can take the United States to a leadership role in the energy venue. It's time stopped blindly following the same time worn path. The future beacons, and it is our economic survival that is at stake, not just our environment. - Brian Braginton-Smith

Let me know when a group gets together in Charlotte, NC, or Rock Hill or Fort Mill, SC. I will happily attend. My organizing leadership days are behind me. Nevertheless, I will give meaningful support to a leader in my area. Scott gru-Bell, 2778 Wood Ridge Drive, Fort Mill, SC 29715, 803-548-0952, wizardofchess@hotmail.com.

Also, I am interested in investment opportunities.

I am having a gathering of about 40 family and friends this Friday, August 1st to welcome a new grandson to the family. I now intend to have a flyer available to inform them about Pickens Plan. I'm sure many will sign up for the campaign. (Three of the people coming drive the Prius)

Our energy policy has been so regressive and hopeless that some real human energy needs to be injected into the issue. Yeah ! to T. Boone Pickens for having the vision and guts to do something.
