IMPORTANT! GOVERNMENT REFUSING TO RENEW GREEN ENERGY TAX CREDITS! THEY’VE DONE THIS THREE TIMES BEFORE!!!
Hi everyone,
This is our chance to stand up to failing policy in government! I just read an article in USA Today about Renewable Energy Tax Credits, and the situation is DIRE!!! Congress is in political turmoil! The renewable energy tax credits are about to EXPIRE AGAIN FOR THE FOURTH TIME IN TEN YEARS! Congress is the middle of a political stand-off, wasting precious time to renew the clean energy tax credits that can support T. Boone Pickens and many other investors and businesses trying to bring clean, renewable energy into mainstream America and support millions of competitive new jobs! If the credits aren't renewed, they will expire by year's end! I know why they are doing this! It is because of arguments of whether to drill the hell out of this country for oil, or to bring in alternatives. Alaska has also played a huge part in this conversation. Oil companies in America claim that drilling in the ANWR reserves, near federally protected wilderness lands, can break our dependance on foriegn oil. I've discussed this before in one of my forums called, "DRILL, DRILL, DRILL...I'm sick to my stomach!" Drilling in Alaska will not break our dependence on foriegn oil, nor will it reduce our dependence on oil itself! If you support domestic drilling in Alaska, you're supporting continuing to put billions of tons of CO2 and other pollutants into the air and further fueling global warming. You'll still be a victim of high gas prices because of unregulated fuel trading, and oil will still be traded on international markets! You'll also still be supporting corrupt oil companies making record breaking profits, creating artificial shortages causing price spikes, and worst of all, drilling in Alaska will not bring millions of mainstream jobs to people across the U.S.! There are plenty of oil alternatives to fuel our cars, such as compressed air! NO POLLUTION AND NO OIL REQUIRED! Also, some of the most concentrated forms of energy available are not fossil fuel based, such as Wave Energy, Wind and Solar. The best way to achieve energy security is through energy diversity! IF WE DO NOT ACT TO BRING ENERGY DIVERSITY TO AMERICA FOR OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS, THE RESULTS COULD BE CATASTROPHIC!!! IF WE SIMPLY SWITCH TO DOMESTIC DRILLING, WE WILL SIMPLY DEPLETE WHAT WE HAVE LEFT, AND WE WILL BE LEAVING OUR WORLD CONTAMINATED FOR OUR CHILDREN!! THIS IS WHY THE GREEN JOBS NOW MOVEMENT IS SO CRITICAL!!! PLEASE, WRITE TO YOUR SENATOR AND TELL THEM THAT WE NEED ENERGY SECURITY THROUGH ENERGY DIVERSITY! AND SIGN THE GREEN JOBS NOW PETITION TO HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD THAT WE NEED GREEN JOBS, FOR US AND FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS!!! TELL THEM GREEN JOBS IN AMERICA CANNOT BE OUTSOURCED AND WE CAN CREATE A NEW WORK FORCE IN AMERICA, NOT IN CHINA OR OTHER COUNTRIES! AMERICA NEEDS YOUR VOICE!!!
