Idaho Needs Clean Energy Too!

With all the sun and wind and geothermal energy we have out here, Idaho can not be allowed to be an empty space on your list. I'm linking to the Snake River Alliance without their permission because they're better informed on our local issues.

In 2008 alone we've (Solar Roadways):

Met with Congressman Bill Sali in D.C.
He offered to earmark (making us pork barrel) our project on a bill in January (09). He wasn't re-elected.

Met with Senator Mike Crapo in D.C.
May be helpful - was very interested and enthusiastic about our project.

Met with Governor "Butch" Otter in Cd'A
Shared that the price of petroleum-based liquid asphalt has risen from $175/ton last December to over $1000/ton in July. All governors share the same problem: we can't afford to build roads out of asphalt anymore.

Met with the mayor of Sandpoint
She is going to place us in touch with some of Clinton's former advisers.

Presented the Solar Roadways to the mayors of Spokane and Liberty Lake
They are planning to place us in touch with Washington politicians.

Currently arranging meetings with:
Senator Shawn Keough
Representative Eric Anderson
Representative George Eskridge

All of these people have been friendly and open to our ideas. Many of them have been very enthusiastic. They just don't seem to know where to go with it.

We're currently working with Booz Allen Hamilton Corporation (building scaled down models for their Future Transportation Lab), Penn State University's Materials Research Institute, the University of Dayton's Research Institute, and the University of Idaho's Transportation engineering staff.

We can make a huge difference if we can only get the funding to continue. How do we actually get in touch with the T. Boone Pickens?

Hi all!

There are a few things we can do to make a difference:

Locate your House and Senate representatives and send them emails:

House of Representatives
https://forms.house.gov/wyr/welcome.shtml

US Senate
http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

One more thing we can do is call the candidates and let them know you support PP!

Obama is 866-675-2008 option 6 to speak with a live person

McCain is 703-418-2008 option 6 to leave a message

...and for more info please join us at The Gem State Initiative...

Thank you for starting this interesting site. I am very interested in seeing how alternative energy ideas develop across the country. Please include me on your updates and notices. I wish you much success.

You are invited to join our group for updates on the Windspire and
other alternative energy items and ideas.

We are building a new manufacturing plant in Youngstown, Ohio to allow us to mass produce the Windspire.

To see our other alternative energy sources: solar, geothermal, and other new on the market items please go to:
