Yes I drive 55. Partly because I want to conserve partly because as I get older (63) I don't want to rush for anybody or anything. It makes good sense to go 55. Glad others feel the same

I support 55mph.
I seem to get the best mileage there.
I have met someone who got a ticket going 55mph in a 65mph zone. I suspect there may be mort to the story.

55 is proven to be the most fuel efficient speed for the internal combustion engine. Slower is not better. Faster is not better. 55 is the best and it actually still is the maximum speed limit for all the big trucks nationwide.

I get 30mpg @ 65mph but when I drive 55mph I average 38-40mpg. Thats a 20% savings of fuel. We need to get away from burning all fossile fuels.

This one thing I will never go along with. Why don't we drive 25MPH and save even more gas? The solution is to drill here, drill now, along with other forms of energy such as coal shale, wind, battery, solar, but not going backwards toward horse and buggy speeds. It incenses me to hear stupid politicians going back into braindead mode about lowering the speed limit again. Everybody hated that, it was brutal driving so slow, it felt like you were going nowhere fast. I'm doing my part by driving a Geo Metro tha gets 30MPG average with city driving included. And I don't drive 55MPH on the highway either.

Is this going to generate any income someday.

I Drive 55 to save gas and the planet. At the height of the gas prices if the national speed limit had been dropped, so would demand and the price.
