North of 64 & South of 70. I'm on board to help promote the Natural Gas for automobile conversion. We need to stay in contact with the new administration's energy department to help promote this idea. Hope Boone has a plan to use us in a way that can be helpful

FYI...
Exelon Generation Will Purchase Wind Power From Illinois
in News Departments > FYI
by NAW staff on Thursday 30 October 2008

Exelon Generation Co. LLC has acquired the rights to purchase 198 MW of output from the 396 MW Twin Groves Wind Farm in Bloomington, Ill. Exelon purchased the rights to buy power from the wind farm from Constellation Energy Commodities Group Inc. Horizon Wind Energy LLC will continue to own and operate the Twin Groves Wind Farm, which went into commercial operations in January. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

"This transaction is another step in our effort to bring renewable, low-carbon energy to the marketplace," says Kenneth Cornew, senior vice president of Exelon. "The agreement boosts Exelon Generation's average annual purchase of wind power to approximately one million MWh, enough electricity to power nearly 100,000 homes. Along with nuclear power, energy efficiency, and other renewable sources, wind power is an important part of our company's efforts to address climate change."

The addition of the clean energy produced by Twin Groves brings Exelon Generation's wind power portfolio to 352 MW.

This problem has occured on a Windmill manufactured by Suzlon, out of India. This is the only manufacturer that has had this accident. This post is meant to inform, not alarm you.

OCTOBER 25, 2008
Windmill Mishap Weighs on Suzlon
NSE Exchange: SUZLON.NS

India's Suzlon Energy Ltd., the world's fifth-largest wind-turbine maker by unit sales, is facing additional questions about its technology after a 140-foot-long blade broke off a tower in Illinois.
Richard Schertz, a farmer from near Wyanet, Ill., said he found the blade in one of his cornfields Tuesday, 150 feet away from the turbine's tower.

Stewardship Energy LLC, an Illinois.-based wind-farm developer, began operating four 2.1-megawatt Suzlon turbines on Mr. Schertz's and a neighbor's farmland in mid-2007. The project was financed by John Deere Wind Energy, a unit of Deere, according to Stewardship Energy's Web site. A spokesman for Deere didn't respond to requests for comment.

Earlier this year, Suzlon, of Pune, India, said it would strengthen or replace 1,251 blades -- almost the entire number it has sold to date in the U.S. -- after cracks were found on more than 60 blades on turbines run by Deere and Edison International's Edison Mission Energy.
