Yes, there are a few of us here in central Illinois. It is actually comical as we are developing wind energy farms at a very rapid rate here in Central Illinois but do not seem to have the local support for National adaptation. In my area there is opposition to (2) current wind farms in the planning stages because, it is perceived that they are noisy and unsightly; and the crop dusting airplanes could not fly in the vicinity of a wind farm.
I drilled a geo loop for a couple of schools in Sterling this spring/early summer. On our way up there we saw several wind generators. I think they were along route 52. I also saw the staging area for another farm on US 51 near Clinton, IL. I thought they were awesome. I stood under one, minimal noise, almost none.
Those objections do not make much sense to me.
I'm in Peoria and would like to set up CNG stations, but first, I have to have some very good mechanics with a fairly large shop that are looking for CNG conversion training. I need all the info I can get on tax credits so I can set up sales. HELP--where is the CNG conversion training?
Lincoln has good drilling. I work for Arnold Bros. Heating and Cooling from time to time. My good friends at Tri-state Trenching do most of the geothermal drilling in that area though.
I hope you get the windmill.
I can have up to 3 around my house by measurment. But they just want to put up 1 for testing. I know my house is almost always in a "tornado" when I open all my windows. I live one mile from a rock quarry. I know there is good drilling.
D. Durbin, I live in the middle of the wind farms in Bradford (north of Peoria). Travel RT40 north, the wind farms are growing rapidly. They begin just south of Camp Grove and spread over three counties. My Daughters High School has their own wind turbine (Bureau Valley). Unfortunately the municipalities surrounded by the wind farms are not receiving any direct energy benefits. All the power created goes on the grid with most being sold to Chicago-land.
Would love to learn more about the GEO systems your company installs. Lee
