I recieved a letter from Rep. John Shimkus' office. He writes that he is unsure what the legislation will include, but will continue to support a comprehensive plan called the American Energy Act.
I am too lazy to type the entire letter on this post. I may find a scanner and add it at a later date. The letter is fairly generic and I am sure many of you have letters just like it.
To the important issue though, as far as I know, the legislation is not written yet. I am getting tired of all talk and no action. In the video below, we see and hear a great talk, but six months later, we still have no action. I am bored with the Democrat/Republican blame game. Any suggestions to get these guys moving?
Hey there Dominique, I'm right there with you. I suggest reprisal letters using firm, concise, and demanding language. As I said earlier I'm no worsmith. I hope someone here is.
Add to that letter a petition from all the folks here at IL for Pickens. This letter should be sent to any and all of our legislators that haven't on-boarded with The Plan. Here's what I'd say before I'd give it to someone who could articulate these points better than I.
LEAD: You're against the plan, because you have a better one, and you have the math and strategy to back it up.
FOLLOW: You're for the plan, without exception. Get in the media, sign up and help us push.
GET OUT OF THE WAY: You're against it, because you want to keep our country on foreign oil. Democrat or Republican, you will not be getting my vote if you fall into this category.
Only my suggestions. Approach can be something altogether different. Thoughs?
That is a lot of what I said in my response letter to his office. I think you and I are on the same page in the same boat.
On a seperate note, has anyone considered pushing parts of the Pickins plan on the state level?

They won't listen until it involves their individual elections. VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE! The Generic letter responses you get aren't even from the elected rep. IT is their staff who stuffs the envolopes of generic responses. A Staff member who comes up with the Generic letter. The chances of the actual elected rep. even seeing that pile of emails and letters is pretty much Nil !!!!!!!
More Numbers added to the PickensPlan, I would hope may at least get them asking what people talking about????? One thing our elected official don't like is looking like they aren't aware of a huge Plan like this in front of a crowd. Questioning their thoughts on the plan in an open forum if available would start the education process.
