I have been trying to stir up support for 'coal to gasoline' as an alternative to foreign oil imports. This technology exists and is being used in some countries today. When I heard Pickens discuss his plan on CNBC I was excited that an 80 year old billionaire would want to get involved in trying to help solve this crisis we are now facing. I want to help if possible because we are a nation that runs on the fact that we have abundant energy at reasonable prices. If we can't continue to have this energy available to us in abundance, the American dream that we have always known will no longer exist and we will continue to lose our industry and jobs that it provides. In the future, we will be able to make the change from oil to other forms of energy to provide for our future needs. Wind, Solar and Nuclear will provide for our electrical requirements and maybe electric and hydrogen fuels will be wave of the future for our transportation requirement. For right now, we need to put all of our efforts into whatever it takes to end our being held hostage by the middle east oil cartel.

I am interested. I am in Mattoon. (geographic diversity suggestion) I support Mr. Pickens' plan and believe that this effort could become a political force for change on issues of wide public support. There is great dissatisfaction with elected officials. I have long believed that an amendment to the Constitution limiting all elected officials to 2 terms would be of great benefit. I am tired of such selling their souls just to get reelected to the detriment of the rest of us. I believe we need to address the energy issues first, but the political issues are critical and a part of the problem and solution.

I've been talking to my co-workers and have given 3 of them this web site so far, I work at a casino so there is a lot of workers to talk to. I think a lot of people don't see the big picture yet and that we need action now.

Hi all, i think we need to get this group up around 20, with good geographic diversity, before we can do some real organizing. Once there, I will contact the group and get this thing rolling. I envision doing a lot of good in this group! Please help recruit some people...

We need more information about the positive aspects of wind energy in downstate Illinois. We currently have a proposed wind energy farm in discussion for central Illinois. Many local residents are not looking at the long term energy solution issues that we must address so that our children have world that is capable of supporting us. Many local residents seem only concerned with property values and the asthetics of the wind generator itself. We need all the positive information about wind energy that we can find and get it to the people as quickly as possible. Any help and information that can be given would be greatly appreciated.
