Hi Everyone. My name is Eric and I live in Southern Colorado. Next summer i plan on building an eco-friendly house. On labor day i visited Taos, New Mexico and saw the "Earthships". They are houses made with waste-products (like tires, cans ect.) and cob/adobe. I suggest you google it if you want to learn more. These earthships are off the grid and are 100% self-sufficient and compared to conventional homes, are extremely affordable... If these "earthship" communities went global, it would solve most of our enviromental problems. Of coarse, the way our society has developed if everyone started building houses with trash and living off the land, the credit industry would collapse and society would have to develop a whole new economy based on our eco-friendly communities. In turn, our governments would need to change their whole "system". The point of life is not to work work work to pay off the bills, we should live free and happy. The economy and enviroment will never be a concern if we broke away from what seems "conventional" and committed ourselves to healthy lifestyles (for us and the universe).

I like your idea but trash is not an issue if you are aware of plasma converters. These devices will molecularly dissociate any trash, and convert it into useful material.
My answer to this problem is build whole communities of earth sheltered homes. Cost is about the same as a conventional home except that last a lot longer.and they have a zero carbon footprintand almost zero maintenace The earthship could require continuous maintenance.
