This could lead to large scale PV deployment. MIT has developed a new system of creating hydrogen gas with PV.

Less Waste Oil In The Environment

A few months back I started my own independent distributor company promoting the benefits of using premium synthetic oils instead of petroleum based lubricating oils. Approximately 1% of a barrel of oil is used to make lubrication products. That may not seem like much until you consider that this country uses 20,730,000 barrels of oil per day. That’s 207,300 bbl/day that’s being used to make motor oils, greases and other lubricating products alone. At $125.00 a barrel, that’s almost $9.5 billion a year going overseas for foreign oil just for lubrication products. Almost $26,000,000 a day could be stopped from going overseas today and every day starting tomorrow, not in ten years, if we just switched from petroleum lubricants to premium synthetic lubricants.

The California Environmental Protection Agency and its Integrated Waste Management Board has embarked on a statewide “3,000 Mile Myth” public information campaign to educate drivers on reducing motor oil consumption.
See what others are saying about using an extended drain program.
There are many other benefits from using premium synthetic lubricants. Such benefits as lower cost through extended drain intervals which produces less waste oil; better wear protection for longer engine life and better fuel economy (up to 8.3%) with less carbon emissions.
For those of you who have a fleet of vehicles, here is an actual case study of how an owner has saved thousands of dollars for his company.
Aside from the economic benefits it’s just The Right Choice for the Environment.

Feel free to give me a call to discuss anything about the Pickens Plan or how to reduce your oil consumption through the use of premium synthetic oils. The best time to catch me in the office is around the noon hours CST. My toll free number can be located on my website at http://www.InnovativeSynthetics.com

'Green-collar' jobs a growth area, U.S. group says

Companies are stepping up their environmental initiatives, and that may mean a boom in "green-collar" jobs.

A recent forecast by the American Solar Energy Society found that renewable energy and energy-efficient industries were responsible for the creation of nearly 8.5 million jobs in 2006, and by 2030 that number is expected to reach 40 million.

Colleges and universities are taking notice, according to Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc., a job placement consulting group.

Many have introduced specialized degree programs in eco-commerce, environmental accounting, green and social marketing, and ecological economics.

"The demand for 'green-collar' jobs is really exploding, especially as the cost of energy continues to climb," said John Challenger, the group's chief executive. "Students need to start thinking about developing skills that will give them an edge for these types of careers that did not even exist until recently."

Popular jobs include urban planners, forestry professionals and environmental lawyers, Challenger said. There is also a growing demand for architects and engineers with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit.

Who ever said Pickens was non-partisan or that this was a non-partisan movement? Don't you get it? This "movement" is entirely partisan: it's Pickens' Own Plan to engineer a victory for long-term production tax credit, from which his venture will derive billions in tax equity.

And in case you missed the irony in making it easy to contact your GOP elected representative, it's because DEM's are already (generally) onboard with the program and he needs us--vox poluli--to nudge the GOP hold-outs over to his side. Brilliant.

Count me in in the non-partisan party. This is a national issue of energy independence. On the coast of Maine Libertarians, Republicans, Democrats, Independents and Greens are all talking about wind power and seemingly willing to work together.

I agree...let's keep this non-partisan from our perspective. To blame one party or leadership here or there for "not doing what's best for America" or for "not being on board" makes our effort partisan. Let's not play those games. This is about ownership and accountability, and a vision for our children's children. We can only encourage others and create more awareness. Through this site and Boone's overall strategy, we can do it!! Awareness brings action, action brings results!!!

I agree....regardless of party affiliation, but I am not concerned about the RNC asking for submissions to their platform. That is what this is all about, getting as many people to listen and join as possible. My suggestions to the DNC were rejected outright but the RNC accepted them. Furthermore, a RNC staff member called me to discuss my submission and concerns and has invited me to speak with John McCain directly. So in my mind the DNC does not want to listen and I am concerned that the DNC does not want to listen - after all, the DNC claims to be for the people, but apparently will not listen and talks the talk but does not do the walk. Not that I support either party at this point, but the one that listens to me gets my vote. Just get the word out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We just have to make sure the politicians understand where we stand on the issue, REGARDLESS of PARTY AFFILIATION. AMEN!
Chris Barrette Comment by Chris Barrette on August 2, 2008 at 3:51pm
For those of members who are concerned about the mention of the RNC asking for submissions to their platform for their convention, there is something to keep in mind. This election is not yet decided either way, and I would rather have the PickensPlan on both platforms going into the election rather than having to fight the battle after the winner is chosen. Politicians renege on their promises all the time but it is much harder to due so when it was part of them getting elected. (Or maybe not). No matter who you want to win in November, if you are here you consider this issue to be very important! As I posted elsewhere, this will be a POLITICAL issue at some point whether we like it or not. We just have to make sure the politicians understand where we stand on the issue, REGARDLESS of PARTY AFFILIATION.
Terry Clark Comment by Terry Clark on August 2, 2008 at 12:31pm
When the DNC gets out of the way of solving the inflationary effects of expensive fuel by allowing an increase in supply, then they should be included in the PickensPlan. Currently, Nancy Pelosi and her left coast liberals are not doing what's best for America.
