I may be the only person who is NOT surprised that Congress is actually continuing to act like a bunch of spoiled brats. I expected the Republicans to act like the "loyal opposition" (oxymoronic at best)...and I have three of them as my reps in the congress.

Apparently the Democrats have decided to act like children also.

I think we need to make it clear that 1.4 million people want a change in the way things are done.

What would happen if a senator got 1.4 million phone calls this week?

What would happen if a representative got 1.4 million phone calls this week?

He/She may not "come to Jesus" but his staff will have to tell him that things are getting interesting out there.

This is probably not for the faint of heart...but I have a huge surplus of roll over minutes on my cell phone and I will enjoy this.

Getting us organized was the easy part. Getting the Congress to actually do something is the hard part. Time to make them listen.

For the children...

Great idea Matt, and maybe they'll come join us for a live meeting of like minds at O'Sheas on Jan 8. You and I will be there, and I'm sure the guest list will be long by then. Happy Holidays everyone. Remember when you see your family and friends over the holidays to mention Pickens Plan and invite them to join us. Read about my Take 5 idea on the 3rd District group site.

Boone wants us to think about it. He wants us to figure out the cost to us and to our children of continuing to do nothing. He wants us to relentlessly pursue our elected officials until they are sick and tired of hearing about it. He needs us to realize that the future of our civilization is at stake. More than our economy is on the line.

The other point is that if we will do the work then the solutions we come up with will benefit our nation and then the entire world. It is not just for our children...it is for all the children...everywhere.

I watched Boone on the Daily Show last night. I think the group would have followed him out and stormed congress and the White House. Leadership creates excitement. It was electric.

CNN has a tremendous article today which challenges us to think of our relationship to oil in a unique way.

I found an interesting article on the Sustainable KY website ya'll might want to look at. Its about how there is an Energy Revolution starting, all kinds of businesses and states are jumping on the band wagon, but not Kentucky.
Makes you think!

I'll be on the lookout for meeting times etc. Pickens plan & others like it seem logical to me.

Some people have been asking what will this Louisville Chapter be about, and what will be involved in being a member? Well the goal at this point was just to get people in the Louisville area talking about what we can do to Push the Plan and be better informed.

I think a lot of that can be done online, but I'd hoped we could also schedule meetings in the local area (probably a local church or library) so we could discuss issues, formalize a plan and create an official local chapter. If you were unable to make those meetings, however, just communicating online would be a great help.

Please let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
Thanks,
Matt
