We need energy from all sources. Think broadly and partisan issues tend to disolve. For us, heating this winter is scary to think about, but we can find solutions if we stand together.

Howdy my eastern neighbors,

Just wanted to commend you for what i heard on the radio today. I heard that there is a very large wind farm being developed in northern ME as I type this.

I think thats awsome.

On a side note to the person talking of paying for heating oil this upcoming winter I share your pain. I wish I had a solution for this winter but I fear this will be a tough one. Hopefully however the ground work is being laid to change all that.

I believe our mission here is to Push the Plan. Get people interested (tell everyone you know) and educated and we will learn more in the comming weeks what our job may entail.

I have heard t Boone Pickens on several talk shows.He talks about drilling for oil and mostly gas.[ untill alternative energy can do the job{it accounts for 2% now} How can we work towards gas when no one will allow drilling? Both parties will have to compromis or this fight will go on...........

I am very happy to see some true leadership for a change...who would believe it would come from a Texas oilman?! :) I would like to hear someone address my concern with the outrageous cost of home heating oil. Any of you struggling with that?

We need a nucleus of leadership folks (say 8 or 10) who live near Portland to set up a team. The leadership team can then set an agenda that will align with Boone's plan. We can contact him and get his support for our team. Let's be the first leadership team to actually get something going, even if it's small. I'm a sr. mgr. of software engineering if I can do nothing else I can organize... :) I'm also good at remodeling homes.

I am not a student of wind or water power but know that we need to change some things and change them fast. I support Mr Pickens 100% mostly because he has real answers and solutions and not just a bunch of politcal run around. It is just great to have somebody take charge like this and lead a cause. I really hope this works!!!!
