I occasionally get asked what I use for my pool or tub. My reply is, "I don't own one yet, but if I did, it'd have fish in it." I get the sideways look from my customer as if to say, you're kidding right? No Ma'am, I'm serious. check out the following link. I think this is the ultimate green pool. http://www.bionova.de/nova%20strana/Bio%20ENG/prva.htm

I've got a buddy building small backyard ponds as a little thing on the side. Our next project will be something more along the lines of what BioNova offers. A natural swimming pool/pond.

The big push in California is to encourage two-speed and multi-speed pool pumps. This can cut the pool filtration portion of a pool owner's electric bill by 50-90%. Pumps like these can pay for themselves in 1-2 years. There are solar powered pool pumps, but these have much longer return on investment due to higher initial cost. Gabe, anytime a product helps reduce the usage of chemicals or energy consumption I consider it green. What fiberglass pool company have you been researching?

Hey James! I follow the fiberglass pool industry mainly, and from what I've learned, fiberglass pools are the most efficient in terms of energy and cleanest in terms of chemical usage. I don't know if that makes them green or not, what do you think?
