Hello, Bill.

The Windspire seems like a very nice alternative to a windmill. It is an exciting concept that I will tell more people about. Below are a few questions that I have, that I couldn't find answers for on your website.

1. If placed in an ideal wind corridor, will a Windspire produce enough electricity to power a residential home?

2. Would it be possible to become locally energy independent, and not need to buy power from my local energy cooperative?

3. How does the Windspire compare to a similar size wind mill?

4. Is the Windspire scalable? Could it be used in a large-scale industrial wind farm?

Great group! I have been researching vertical access wind generators for use at my business for some time now. I understand the technology but I am unaware of various laws and regulations that would inhibit us at this point. My business is located on the top floor (4th floor) along the banks of the Maumee River and there seems to be a constant wind. We have installed a weather station to gauge the averages and it seems to be a step forward for now. We currently have a gas operated generator for backup power and a large battery bank for transition power from utility. Our Electric bill averages 6k per month. There has to be a better way!

I am very interested in looking at your technology.

We are working with County of Maui Dept. of Energy, the Mayor's office, U. of H. Energy Test Lab at MCC, MECO, and other agencies. The Windspire is only 30' tall, so it adheres to nearly any zoning and local requirement. Our first unit in Maui will go up around August 1st. We will warehouse, and office out of Wailuku and Kahului. Interest in Hawaii has been extremely high, as Hawaii will lead the nation in alternative energy, and we are planning on a very big response once we open for business.
Maui officials have been very receptive to our product. We are also working on suppling power to Kaahloolawe, and The Big Island is ideal for the Windspire. We have interest in Kauai, but have not set up any type of installation as of yet. So, we expect to make a major impact in Hawaii.
