FYI - please see info below about The Chesapeake Crescent. This is a regional group chartered to promote alternative energy initiatives for the region, among other things. Maybe we can spear-head targeting these types of groups to spread the PickensPlan message within our region!

The Chesapeake Crescent, one of the most dynamic areas of the United States, spans Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia, and is the domicile of the United States Government. The region holds an unrivaled concentration of government, academic, civic, business, military and political resources.

The Chesapeake Crescent Initiative, through political collaboration, will succeed in leading the nation in innovative technology, sustainable green and solar development, workforce housing, transit and environmental advancements. This collective government effort will attract the best and brightest with the vision and know-how to make the Crescent a global economic powerhouse as well as a planning model for the country.

The greatest untold story of the Washington region is the under-performance of the technology sector.

I'm not big on blogging and have no idea what RSS is. So I will not be online daily. I do suggest we compile an email list of local state and federal elected officials in our respective areas. I will work up a template for a form letter in support of 'The Plan'. Let's flood the inboxes of our officials even before November so they will know where we want the nation to go regarding energy.

I see the not just the PickensPlan as means of lessening our dependence on oil but also an avenue to bring jobs back home. Jobs directly and indirectly related to wind, solar and natural gas would go along way to putting us back in the black.

Hey Folks,

Thanks for taking the lead and creating a group. This is exactly what we are going to need to sustain this campaign and realize its goals.

My name's Brett and I'm the Director of Online Organizing for PickensPlan. I want to be as helpful as possible in making this group work for you, and coordinating with the rest of the campaign.

Here's a link to a discussion on tips for a successful group:

That's a great place to start. Also, feel free to send me a message at Brett@PickensPlan.com at any time. Let me know what I can do to help you out in the coming days and weeks. I look forward to working with you.

Brett.

I'm impressed by the Picken's plan and roll out. It's so encouraging to see so many responding so quickly. Plus, thanks and kudos to Michael Buckingham for starting the Maryland for Energy Independence group! Great.
