Is there anything else we can do other than over email/internet to help get word out? With the elections coming up, is there a list of candidates in the Central Ohio area that have a history in or honest interest in utilizing alternative energy to solve our energy problems?

I am sick to death of all the high cost of fuel and of the money hungry Americans who could care less about what will happen on this earth when the legacy we leave our grand children is so costly both financially as well as ecologically. The time is now for change. I am also tired of watching our hard working American dollars go to Foreign Countries for the benefit of the few while the majority suffer. THE TIME IS NOW>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Help Get the Pickens Plan on the Republican Party Platform
Pickens Plan

You can go the the GOP at
http://www.gopplatform2008.com/intro.aspx to post your comments to the Platform committee:
Here's mine:

Listen to T. Boone Pickens on the energy issues. We need to do all that we can to eliminate the dependence on foreign energy sources. Drill NOW to get our own resources in use (ANWAR and off-shore). Don't listen to the insane position that it will not lower fuel prices today, as I am sure it will not, but we are looking to the future not just the next business quarter or the general election. Get real on offering incentives to people that want to use domestic energy sources. I am changing my gasoline powered cars and lawn equipment to Propane (+90% domestically produced) and I can find no State (Indiana) or Federal tax incentives to make this more affordable. This is a practical method to move off of foreign oil NOW, not after putting a multibillion dollar hydrogen infrastructure in place or develop fuel cells or battery technologies that meet practical needs but NOW. Why do we have to always delay and delay for the next great thing when there are alternatives ready for use NOW. Push the wind generation of electricity (another alternative that is viable NOW). Stop the special interests that don't want the wind farms in their backyard, excuse me oceanfront view Mr Ted Kennedy. Let's have another Matthatten Project, but this time, instead of creating a weapon of mass destruction, let's put the entire will and might of the USA where it will best serve the country, ENERGY INDEPENDENCE from practical means that we can use NOW.

Hi everyone, while I believe in renewable power generation, it seems that point of use production may be a better alternative. Every building should produce it's own energy. It is with that idea that I started Windy City Renewable Energy. We need to clean up our mess; for my kid and everyone's.

Thanks to Mr. Pickens!

I am from Decatur Illinois, home of ADM, and Tate and Lyle. I am a big fan of all sorts of energy technologies. I reccomend freeenergnews.com for a continuous education on the technologies.

One important aspect , when deciding on energy technologies is what will the end cost be for the consumer. Distributed energy is the way to insure that monopolies can't charge unfair prices for power. That could be a big problem with giant wind turbines. Power would be available, but for what price? If communities can build turbines, they can put the profits back into their own town. They need to start looking at this possibility now. Small individual turbines are good too, if you have enough land. They may require a lot of maintenance cost however. I do not know.

Solar technology is more easily adapted to individual homes and buildings. Thin film solar is making rapid progress. It could be the biggest winner of the new energy battles. I could even be wrapped around the solar towers themselves.

Another way to increase the value of the wind farms is to integrate hydrogen production with them. That way when the wind isn't blowing, energy will keep flowing. The hydrogen can be burned in fuel cells as needed, to produce electricity.

Friends:

Since this is Midwest Pragmatists, let me offer that we are located in the “ethanol belt” and PickensPlan needs to be fleshed-out, a little, in regard to carbon-neutral, renewable, domestic biofuels.

Before we get bogged down in discussions of technical minutia, food versus fuel debates, and other myopic subtopics, allow that if only about 5 percent of the capital invested in petroleum production during the last seventy-five years had been spent on biofuels, we might have $1.00 motor fuel right now. It would all be carbon-neutral or carbon-favorable, and there would still be enough food to go around; all because of a dramatic impact of technology transfers into the mainstream production paradigm.

Having said that, Midwesterners and others associated with PickensPlan, may wish to level a little more concentration on the biofuels aspect of our indigenous energy policy.

Thanks and regards,
John D. Cochran

Greetings Friends,
We all need to thank Mr. Pickens for explaining the energy problem that we as a nation face. Earlier it was one Group (users) pointing fingers at the other Group (suppliers) and vice versa. The problem is real. It was magnified to some extent, in recent times, by speculators. But, the truth is we are importing more oil every year and producing less. We are sending billions of dollars overseas.

I like Mr. Pickens Plan but I think it needs to be supplemented by other plans. It by itself will not get us to Energy Independence. It will just buy us more time. For this reason I have posted a petition for Energy Independence .

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/windenergycorporation

Please (a) sign the Petition and (b) forward it to your friends. United we can achieve Energy Independence and avoid this constant financial bleeding of our great nation.
Also, if you want to become an partner in this endeavour let me know how I can contact you. It will be a Labor of Love for a Country that we love. Just think what Energy Independence will be like. What it will do to our standard of living. The opportunities it will offer us, our children and grand children.

With your support we can kick the elected officials into action. They are not our Masters. They are our servants. United we can do it. Please sign the Petition.

Thanks.

Regards and Best wishes,

Alankar Gupta

We have been trying to join a group or movement that we strongly believe in and this is it!! Anything at all we can do to get the word out--let us know! One thing I do know that needs to happen, is a decrease in prices on the solar and wind products so the average american can afford it easier. We are very glad to be a part of this and also feel this is LONG overdue. The government is slowly leading to the decay of our country and it's time we all stand up and BE HEARD!!!!

THIS MOVEMENT IS LONG OVERDUE LEADERS ARE CALLING ON THE SILENT MASSES WHO CAN GET THINGS DONE BY BEING INFORMED AND MOTIVATED TO JOIN A PRAGMATIC GROUP WHO WILL COLLECTIVELY LET THE DO NOTHING CONGRESS KNOW WE ARE NOW DEMANDING TO BE HEARD AS I SAID THE MASSES ARE WAITING TO BE ORGANIZED. As Americans we have the right to stand up to our Gov. and demand action, but no one wants to get off their posteriors or they don't know where to start so they don't. we need to demand that the Gov. local on up, starts to make it easier and more affordable to become Green. Solar and Wind generation is the easiest way to impact this Energy problem right now not in 10 years. Simplify residential solar and wind generations so that the average individual can understand it and will want to use it.
