What are we waiting for? I have spent all of my life preparing and taking lessons and performing all of the local spots and festivals and we all know what that involves. What I don't understand is why record labels seem to get control of who gets commercial blessings. If we really wanted to, we could put a show together in a week. We have the greatest promotional tool--Picken's Plan--and we are non-partisan, and we will change America. If anyone want to do this, I challenge you to prove it. If the good Reverend calls us to arms, I am there! Are you?
Hi Pat, wow, I'm very impressed with your virtuosity! IBeing from the Midwest, I am a huge Country/Classic Rock/Heavy Metal fan and I like the groove you have going there. I think you could be a 1 man show. I hope we can get this thing off the ground. In most of the experiences I have had in forming a band, people correspond, maybe hook up a couple of times, then maybe the drummer can't make it, or the keyboard player has to work his day job, or whatever. I know the bills have to be paid and most musicians I know, including myself, have not quite yet been discovered, and we have to work. I just feel that if you are a musician, that's who you are and you must "be" that no matter what else is going on. If I ever become a part of a real group, I can promise you that there will be very few things in this world that will be more important--other than immediate family and personal health. I do read and write music too. Let's move forward.
Very cool. I have not done any on line collaborations but I am open to the possibilities. I have several songs that I would like to perform live with a regular group of musicians. The only way to achieve commercial success is to be a constant, core of individuals--that any sponsor could bank money on to fill a venue.. I like the idea of doing on line work but first I want to get a feel for a live group, performing any where, any type of music, any time--at will. That's why major labels put people under contract because It takes not only talent but time and dedication--3 things that I have not yet found. What do you want to do? I am open to any suggestion. We can try to put together a sort of theme song--a single that could represent our mission and draw attention to our cause. I have a song called People of The World. I will post it on my page this evening. If you want to come up with another arrangement, or even another song, we could perform this song, and maybe some others. I really wanted to find a working Guitar, Bass, Drums and Keys so we could start working right away, and working for real money but I guess the electronic technology can fill in the blanks.
Very nice. I love that guitar player, too. I have a couple of songs that were recorded with a group I played with in Michigan. I have wanted to perform these songs but I really don't like singing to canned tracks. If you want to check them out and re-record them with your own arrangement, I would love to co-produce the singles. I will need to get written permission from my group to re-do them and start marketing them for a possible publishing deal. One is a country song that I want either Kenny Chesney, or Tim McGraw to buy. I'll post them this evening, okay? I'm still at my office right now. Later!
Thank you Janice for saying what must be said to all the artists who really say what they mean and mean what they say, bless you for that. I couldn't agree with you more. I gave up performing live (30 yrs exp Pro) so I could stall and regroup my intentions and desires, as a performing artist (singer-songwriter-guitar player-performer). What we have before us is like you touched on; and that's our opportunity to use our talent, for more than just getting personal money and fame. Best blessings to you and yours,Leland Luster/Las Vegas,Nev./02-01-09
