I was so glad to find this group!, especially after i read WindEnergy7's article, particularly for Texas. I hope to learn more, but would love to be instrumental in helping things change a bit in this state, I would love to have more information as it pertains to all of us! great site, thanks, looking forward to learning more

Glad you started a group for this. I've been banging the drum about Net Metering for a long time and I am finally getting some traction I believe. There's a new post over on WindPowerForums.com in the Grid-Tie Home Wind Turbine Forum It outlines some specific comparisons of Oklahoma Net Metering Problems. Nationally what is needed is a national net metering standard that is adopted or forced into all states. 8 States have no net metering policy at all for home generation! These are definitely battleground states. These people should be outraged for sure. The rest of us have shortcomings in each state put in place by big utilities to hold back our energy freedom and personal energy plans.

Real Quick, What is net metering?
Net Metering: is the most critical public policy and state regulated rules that govern YOUR PERSONAL ENERGY RIGHTS, FREEDOM. Through Net Metering, energy consumed and produced at a home or business that has a home wind turbine or solar system is metered and credited. Under net metering, excess electricity produced by the wind turbine, called NEG ( net excess generated ) will spin the existing home or business electricity meter backwards, effectively banking the electricity until it is needed by the customer. This provides the customer with full retail value/credit for all the electricity produced.

This is how we are either DENIED, or GRANTED our personal energy freedom. Net Metering. I encourage all those interested to act. It's OK if you can't buy a solar or wind system, are a student, live in an apartment, this is something you still need to JOIN THE FIGHT. If we can get our rights to home generation and energy freedom supported by good Net Metering policy and law, the people can act ourselves to make green energy. It will help lower and control electrical costs because it creates competition for electricity providers. It's good for the environment, and it's good for financial position of families.
