I believe what our mission is now, is to Push the Plan. Tell everyone you know about it and help them to educate themselves here on this website. I think there will be more to come in the following weeks once we have our army of educated folks established.

I am from Enosburg Falls, Vt. North but not Northeast.
Vermont is a small state, maybe we could unite.
I am trying to find funding for wind power for our small town.

Our school and the downtown area.

If you have read any of the heated discussions in the forums, you can see not everyone agrees with history. That seems to be a common problem these days -- people interpret history to meet their current desires. The truth is that regardless of the reason for wanting to get off foreign oil, all sides want to do just that. The problem comes when people get stuck on the why instead of the solution. It doesn't matter if you believe in global warming and want to reduce the burning of foreign oil in favor of clean energy or think global warming is a liberal farce and want off our foreign oil dependency to make the country stronger and everything cheaper. The important thing to focus on is the desire to get off foreign oil and onto clean, renewable energy. Democrats, Republicans and Independents all need to work together and tell the people in Washington who forgot we exist that we need an energy plan that gets us off that dreaded foreign oil. We want clean, renewable, independent energy that can help make the country stronger and goods less expensive for US. Hmmmm, you mean we can all get what we want? Contact your representatives and bring them onboard in the creation of a new energy plan for the country.

Arthur, I believe that Mr Pickens plan is to generate energy in the center of the country because of the lower cost than off-shore building. It also takes less time to build on shore than off-shore. So, as he ramps up in the midwest, people out there can shut off their CNG at home and start using the CNG for cars. Kinda build from the center and head east and west. Granted, the off-shore winds are stronger and more stable, but the initial costs can be prohibitive.

Welcome Group! I'm glad Mr.Pickens is taking the initiatve to "start" solving our energy cost problem. I think America will be fine, but there will be serious problems for many of us until the alternative energy sources kick in.

Here in the Northeast we need to burn something to stay warm in the winter. Many people can't afford $4.25 fuel oil to heat there homes. My home is relatively well insulated and small and has a new oil furnace. However, I am seriously considering adding a heat pump for primary heating. This means more electricity and an increased load on the primary distribution system.

I'm supporting Picken's Plan because I used to live on the high plains and I know the wind there blows hard. Montezuma is a small town in Kansas with 170+ large windmills near it. The town gained several permanent jobs from workers as well as $200,000/yr to the school. The farmers gained lease payments on their land, and farmed around the towers. Seeing 170 large turning propellers is quite a sight.

On the negative side, the wind farm caused a problem for the local power plant when it quickly shut down due to high wind and the plant generators couldn't come on line quick enough.

Also, a women living in the middle of the wind farm was bothered by the constant slow "whoosh---whoosh" of the blades.

Mr. Pickens wind map didn't show off shore wind. I was recently on Cape Cod for the first time and thought the sea side wind was fairly strong. I live in NW Connecticut and have noticed there isn't much wind here because of the trees and hills. There may be good wind on the hilltops.

We all need to thank Mr. Pickens for explaining the energy problem that we as a nation face. Earlier it was one Group (users) pointing fingers at the other Group (suppliers) and vice versa. The problem is real. It has been magnified to some extent, in recent times, by speculators. But, the truth is we are importing more oil every year and producing less. We are sending billions of dollars overseas.

I like Mr. Pickens Plan but I think it needs to be supplemented by other plans. It by itself will not get us to Energy Independence. It will just buy us more time. For this reason I have posted a petition for Energy Independence .

Please (a) sign the Petition and (b) forward it to your friends. United we can achieve Energy Independence.

Thanks.

Regards and Best wishes,

Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.

A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything.

Huey Long once said. "in the name of anti-fascism" - it will
come in the name of your security -
they call it "National Security," it
will come with the mass media
manipulating a clever concentration
camp of the mind. The super state
will provide you tranquility above
the truth, the super state will make
you believe you are living in the
best of all possible worlds, and in
order to do so will rewrite history
as it sees fit.

George Orwell's Ministry of Truth warned us, "Who
controls the past, controls the
future."

Why have they been
withheld or burned by the Government?
Each time my office or you the people
have asked those questions, demanded
crucial evidence, the answer from on
high has been "national security."

What kind of "national security" do
we have when we have been robbed of
our leaders? Who determines our
"national security"? What "national
security" permits the removal of
fundamental power from the hands of
the American people and validates
the ascendancy of invisible government
in the United States? That kind of
"national security," gentlemen of
the jury, is when it smells like it,
feels like it, and looks like it,
you call it what it is - it's Fascism!

I was visiting my daughter in Cleveland in May, and as I looked at the lights of the buildings downtown and felt the always present wind off of Lake Erie, I wondered how much of that electricity could be generated with windmills on top of the buildings. I;m guessing that there is a reason nobody seems to be doing that, but what is it?

Create your own Power!
Take a look at our group site Mariah Power. The Windspire is now on display in Washington D.C. at the U.S. Capitol Botanic Garden through October 2008. Units are going up in California, Nevada, and Utah now, and we will very visable and effective throughout Hawaii this year. Mariah will be available worldwide as production increases with the completion of a new plant in Youngstown, Ohio. For more information contact Bill Mollring at : 831 402-2037 mrbillmaui@yahoo.com -
