Well, We did it. Obama is the President Elect. I've been pretty busy meeting with groups, we are putting together a health care presentation to give to Tom Daschle. Many products like cars and trucks come from other countries where the manufacturers don't have to deal with their employee's health care needs because they are taken care by the government. We need a system that will help put our Automobile manufacturers on a more even footing with the overseas competition. Our plan will cut the cost of health insurance for everyone so much it will be cheaper than insuring a used car. It will also streamline healthcare by eliminating a mish-mash of state and federal programs including medicare.

I am leaning towards nuclear fusion as the long term power source for this planet. Visit:https://lasers.llnl.gov/ to view a short documentary on fusion. The will be literally creating a star on earth in a controlled environment. It is an amazing technology that is super clean and safe.

The next step will be better battery technology and creating the infrastructure for a future of mostly electric vehicles. CNG will be good for about 10 years, then we need to be ready for electric only cars and trucks, about 2025. As you may have read in one of my blogs I support a federal tax on gas to build this infrastructure and there is no time like now to do this. Barack Obama should raise the federal tax on gas 50 cents immediately, and another dollar of the following year. This will be enough to build the new power grid needed to recharge millions of electric vehicles.

If the Fusion energy star program makes good on it's promise we will not only be able to eliminate dirty coal, but clean coal and nuclear power plants as well. The future's so bright I gotta wear shades.

I hope everyone hangs in there. There is still a place for wind energy and CNG and propane are clean and clean is still better than dirty. Obama will be great. It will take time. The future will be fine.

I am an Obama supporter and a PickensPlan member. I believe that when T.Boone and Barack get together face to face we will find out that Obama's plan is pretty much in line with the PickensPlan, at least I hope so. This is such an easy and sensible answer to our dependence on foreign oil!! Maybe it is too simple for the pessimists of this world.

Guys, I will tell you I am an OBAMA Supporter and I will vote for him in November. However, I hope this website doesn't turn to political because we all know everytime that happens all is lost. Trust me, There are those in the oil business that are watching pickens and want him to fail. Don't let this turn into a shouting match or the oil companys win. Republicans and Democrats now need to solve our energy problems or were all in big trouble. Pickens better make sure this forum stays Neutral on politics or once again the oil companys win. We are not just trying to make change but we are going up against a muli-billion dollar oil business that will not go out without a fight. I'm going to stand with pickens and keep working with this website and pray that this is finaly the time to change for the better. If not were all going to have to start all over again. Keep your head folks and lets all work together. I don't think we have a choice now.

Copied from newenergyforamerica.com

In 2000, countries like Germany made a major commitment to increase the use of renewable energy and begin to get off oil. We elected George Bush and Dick Cheney -- who gave us a secret energy task force, a war in Iraq and the same old energy policies.
Eight years later, gas prices are soaring above $4 a gallon and the nation stands at a crossroads.
We can either “go big” and follow Barack Obama’s 2007 blueprint to create a new energy economy -- or we can rely on John McCain’s sudden 2008 urge to drill for offshore oil -- a distracting idea which won’t reduce gas prices but will boost oil company profits.
The facts are clear. Only one candidate has a detailed plan that is at Apollo moon-mission scale, using technologies that work right now -- Barack Obama. Clean energy isn’t pie in the sky -- the Germans created 250,000 jobs in less time than it will take for John McCain and Big Oil to drill for oil offshore -- and bring it to market. Failing to invest in new energy means we will continue to fall behind in the competitive race for new jobs and manufacturing. That’s not the road to smart energy independence; it’s a backwards formula for more Exxon dependence.

The Choice Is Clear

CHALLENGE

Immediate Financial Relief for Families This Summer
OBAMA
$300 per family in rebate checks from a second round of stimulus to help families offset the cost of $4.00 gas this summer.
(Obama Second Stimulus Plan)
McCAIN
No credible plan for immediate financial relief.
Proposed a gas tax gimmick that would provide at most 30 cents a day for the typical workers while increasing oil company profits and depriving our under-funded national highway trust fund of $10 billion.
(Tax Policy Center)

Making America’s Economy Vibrant and Competitive in the Long Haul
OBAMA
Apollo-scale investment of $150 billion investment over 10 years to jumpstart renewable energy technology development and deployment.
McCAIN
No comprehensive plan for clean energy investments. Has repeatedly opposed any new investments and incentives in renewable energy.
He rejects 99.8% of the Obama ideas for investing in our energy future – the advanced battery prize represents 0.2% of the overall investment in the Obama plan.

The Next 10 Years of Oil
OBAMA
3 million barrels of oil savings.
Plan will reduce U.S. oil consumption by about 3 million barrels of oil per day by 2018.
Supports new development on existing leases, which could nearly double total U.S. oil production, and increase natural gas production by 75 percent.
( Obama Energy Plan)
McCAIN
Not a drop more.
McCain plan to open up our coastlines to drilling would not bring meaningful new production on-line for ten years.
(U.S. Dept. of Energy)

Reducing Dependence on Foreign Oil
OBAMA
Plan to reduce oil consumption by 10 million barrels, or at least 35%, by 2030. That is enough to totally offset our imports from OPEC countries.
McCAIN
Says No to this goal, and has no plan to reduce our long-term dependence on oil.

Green Collar Jobs
OBAMA
Plan for renewables, fuel economy and energy efficiency will help create 5 million new green collar jobs.
McCAIN
No green jobs plan.

Ending Excessive Speculation in Oil Markets
OBAMA
Supports fully closing the Enron Loophole and eliminating offshore loopholes that encourage excessive speculation. Plan will ease the impact of rising prices.
McCAIN
No plan.
Sen. Phil Gramm – one of Senator McCain’s chief economic advisors – was responsible for sneaking the Enron Loophole into law.

Fuel Economy v Offshore Drilling
OBAMA
Supports doubling the fuel efficiency of autos within 18 years, saving American consumers from purchasing a half trillion gallons of gas.
Taking this one step will achieve more than three times the oil savings than could be produced under even the most optimist scenarios of drilling in the Outer Continental Shelf and Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
(Obama Energy Plan; Department of Energy)
McCAIN
No plan to increase fuel efficiency standards.
Repeatedly opposed legislative efforts to increase CAFE standards. Now supports simply enforcing existing standards.

Energy Efficiency
OBAMA
Plan will reduce the energy intensity of our economy 50% by 2030, through improvements in building efficiency, smart grid, and giving utilities an incentive to invest in efficiency rather than new production.
McCAIN
No energy efficiency plan.

Windfall Profits Tax
OBAMA
Supports implementing a well-designed windfall profits tax on profits made over $80 per barrel to help families pay energy bills.
McCAIN
No windfall profits tax plan.
Supports $4 billion per year in new tax breaks for major U.S. oil companies, including $1.2 billion per year for Exxon-Mobil – the most profitable company in the history of the world.

Hi Wayne. We need Obama to adopt Pickens Plan in his energy policy. He's already allocated $150 Bill. over the next ten years for alternative energy and this is what Pickens needs to set up the infrastructure of transmission lines to carry his electricity and natural gas all over the nation.

The best plan on the table
I think Pickens Plan is the best plan yet to eliminate our dependence in foreign oil and retain the wealth of our country. We are being held hostage by OPEC and making unfriendly countries rich with our continued use of gasoline for transportation and heating oil. We don't need to drill for oil offshore or anywhere else and we don't need 45 new nuclear plants like Mc Cain wants. Please vote for Barak Obama, he is the most likely to adopt this plan and see it through quickly and efficiently

Thanks Bill. I'm currently working on a 'micro-turbine engine that will run off of natural gas and power a gen-set in a car. It's similar to the Chevy Volt, (too bad, I got the idea years ago and then the Volt concept came out), but it's still a good idea and mine is a little different.

The 'Volt' concept uses a piston engine in the gen set which has way too much friction and way too many moving parts. My microturbine concept has ONE moving part, it's much easier to start and cut off than a piston engine and with natural gas will run a 1000 times cleaner and it will be much less expensive to produce.

If anyone wants to help me with ideas or whatever, let me know, I could use it.

Thank you for starting this site. I am very interested in seeing how alternative energy ideas develop across the country. I have contacted a number of politicians who say they are interested in alternative energy. Only a few have responded. Please include me on your updates and notices. I wish you much success. We are listed on the Pickens Plan as Mariah Power.
I invite you to join our group for updates on the Windspire and
other alternative energy items and ideas.
