Critical mass=3,000,000.
This concept is still relevent and becoming more important every day. Our politicians still don't get it. Energy independence is the cornerstone for solving all other problems by freeing resources which can be used to fund projects that affect all Americans.
I recently attended a brunch where my congresswoman was the honored guest. She gave a speech as they all do and highlighted healthcare and education reform as the most important issues to tackle outside of the economic crisis. Energy independence was given just a few words. Another politician, my state assemblyman, also gave a speech which was a little different but still highlighted healthcare and education reform. Other politicians interviewed this week on cable also rarely mention energy independence. Ralph Branscomb, one of our members and an energy expert went to DC with other experts at the invitation of a congressional committee and was listened to, thanked, and was told we'll do what we can but there are other more important issues at the moment.
In just a few days it became apparent that despite our efforts and that of the president.....they still don't get it. It's unbelievable.
That's why I urge we raise the bar to reach critical mass. We need 3,000 000 active members constantly assaulting our representatives with letters, e-mails and phone calls. Those that can should also try to visit their state and national representatives in DC, state capitols and their local offices.
This situation requires a massive turnout for the virtual march on DC on 4/1-3. Do what you can during this period and don't forget to try and recruit new people for the Army. Keep a signup sheet and Plan literature with you at all times.
I was just invited to an officer meeting of my local Democratic Club to discuss the Plan and help come up with a program to adopt the Plan for their agenda. The president of the club appears to have liked what I had to say to him at the end of a prior meeting. He invited me to speak to the other officers. This is one way we should be going. Join established political or local clubs and convert them. Work within the system. Don't push, just explain. There are lots of people out there that want to contribute their time and energy but just don't know how to do it. We need to find them and educate them. Even my congresswoman in her speech indicated that a grass roots effort is the best way to get reform and further a movement.
Our glass is half full. We need 1.5 million more members. If each of us recruited just one active person we would be there.
CRITICAL MASS=3,000,000---allen---THE GREEN WARRIOR.
