if the power is in the hands of the gov. and gov it is made by the same people who sale the gas, how we can do green earth, ask them to sell for less the gas not sell anymore step down from the power and let better qalified people to do what realy need to be done, gov made rules, realy the rules are made to be broken, by gov. for ex. are thounsand of big truks which are on the road to pass E.P.A. it is imposible so E.P.A. FIND THE SOLUTION the co. who has them pay $5000 five thonsand per vehicle to be on the road, compare $ 50 normal fee this is the very tiny example how many similar situation big scale which i do not know but people in charge knows and they brake the rules, to bark at the wrong tree for to long time it is catastrofick, when we realise which tree to bark may not exist any tree at all

I too am wondering what I can do. So what I'm going to throw out here is speculation, hopefully more can add to it.

Is this a case where we need the government to push a technology for us? Is this a case where we need to funnel our tax dollars in a specific direction?

Or, rather... is this a case of doing the following:

1. Remove unreasonable regulatory restrictions
2. Push for a set of regulatory restrictions that are streamlined, effective, on target, and pose no unnecessary barriers to entry into the marketplace of a particular technology or group of technologies
3. Raise awareness of the general public to the need for action
4. Tagged on to #3, raise public awareness to the benefits of any given technology, its limitations, its intangible costs, and the alternative to not implementing it (which in my opinion is dire)

Building on this... two specific cases come to mind.

A lot of people complain of sight pollution with regard to windmills. This is one of the costs of doing business, and I fear that a "not in my back yard" mentality is keeping us from achieving full potential in this technology.

Also... I have found all the parts online to do a CNG conversion on my car, myself, for under $2000. But it is illegal. This is because, for a kit to be legal, the manufacturer must pay for testing, licensing, and so forth, for each and every make, model, and year vehicle they make a kit for. So for instance, they'd have to pay to legalize a kit for a 1998 Ford Focus, and again for a 1999 Ford Focus, and etc. These fees are in the mid to high tens of thousands of dollars, to my understanding, per vehicle.

This seems unnecessarily obstructive.

Maybe we should identify resistance points to these technologies, and work on raising awareness to the resistance points, in an effort to remove as many as possible.

I am located in the Florida Panhandle--between Panama City and Pensacola. Please let me know what I can do to get the word out. I am thinking of getting some signs or banners made, possibly. I have not decided which would get more bang for my buck.

We have got to find ways to eliminate our dependence on non-renewable resources we cannot control.

Ok here is a good idea. I was waiting for someone to get a set of resources up here for people to use. Maybe we should throw together a template letter for people to send to their local media? But also I would like some educational links to places like the natural gas transportation of America website and a big wind power site so those who are interested in spreading awareness of this plan can be well versed in the topics it covers.

The future of our energy needs is not with a greater dependence on domestic or imported oil; the future of our security as a nation is certainly not with oil; the future health of our planet lies not with oil; our shaky economy cannot be cured with more oil--so why are the politicians talking of drilling for more oil? I'll tell you why: because it's the easy and politically expedient way. Our elected leaders are lazy, cowardly, and spineless jellyfish who are just plain affraid.
