BE 500 PEOPLE!

The 3 day Pickens Virtual March on Washington is ON! Among other actions, I’m encouraging everyone to send a single eMail EVERY DAY. In political arithmetic that is counted as 500 in the minds of our elected officials.

YOU ARE 500 PEOPLE. Every eMail legislative aides receive is statistically calculated to represent 500 people in a congressional district who feel exactly the same way...even if they didn’t actually write. That’s absolute fact. It’s a simple thing to do, but it has tremendous impact.

Please go to Find your District Congressman and enter your zip code in the box on the far right side. You will be directed to a page at CONGRESS.ORG that automatically finds and allows you to eMail your elected officials on the federal and state level. Copy and paste the following text:

--------------------------Beginning of Letter ---------------------------------------------------

(Subject Box:) Support the Pickens Plan

(Issue Area Box: Choose Energy)

(Editable Text Area:)

I am a constituent living in (FILL IN CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT OR TOWN) who supports the Pickens Plan and asks you to do the same. America’s dependence on foreign oil depletes our economy, threatens our national security and negatively impacts our environment.

Please sign the Pickens Pledge and support conservation, education and the development of clean energy at every possible opportunity. It’s important for our economy and the well being of generations to come.

Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.

------------------------End of Letter ------------------------------------------------------------------

The rest of the options are your own choice. Click the “Send Message” button at the bottom of the page.

This type of appeal makes our leaders take notice, and I urge every one of you to BE 500 PEOPLE today, because you really are. You have power that can be delivered with a few clicks of your finger. Don’t wait…do it now!

Thank you for your support.

Group

Here's required viewing for our education about CLEAN ENERGY. Wouldn't this make interesting viewing in a science or physics class room from 5th grade up? Think about the practical examples we could produce right in the class room. No more complicated then a Tea Pot and hamster wheel.

Jim Muhaw and I want to thank all of the District Leaders from NJ-11 for attending Wednesday evening’s tele-conf call. We had almost 100% attendance across the State and two RL's on the call. Micha Lauer, RL from Idaho, and Geoff Bailey, RL from Texas. The meeting was spirited and productive.

Our focus was a Town Hall meeting for later this year with Boone in attendance along with local business, utilities and political reps. It's possible the event will be held at a University i.e., Rutgers, Princeton, etc. and may include a TV & web based simulcast.

The event is far from "in the can" at this stage...but we wanted to share the possibilities with the DL's at this site. Expanding your network and sphere of influence is as far reaching as your imagination. We are so proud of the enthusiasm and professionalism of every participant on the call. It was a contagious moment which lasted for an hour and 47 minutes.

We'll keep you posted with the results as the planning goes forward. Hopefully it will provide encouragement for all DL's in their relative districts to reach out further and wider then they believed they could. We are all in this moment together. I can tell you it's been a long time coming. This period in history will be remembered as a time of significant change, our politics, our culture and hopefully our behavior toward the environment and the quality of life and safety of our grandchildren’s, grandchildren.

The thanks are to every person in these rooms; volunteering their time, hearts and wisdom toward a better future. The more we hear and see happening in this space and elsewhere, the deeper our belief that it can and will happen...it must!

Thanks to all...

hey flatboy
if you have your own political or social agenda take it somewhere else. you are diluting the message. we had another conservative who was not happy with the supposed liberal message on this site and and he wanted to leave. against my better judgement i asked him to stay to continue to give his point of view. we need all view points.
if you decide to take your paranoid view elsewhere i will not ask you to stay.
if not try being a little more positive. we are in uncharted waters thanks to BUSH. Obama is trying to save the country and not just the green movement but no one has an answer just listen to CNBC. when you and Palin get your economics degrees get back to me.---allen---THE GREEN WARRIOR

Dear Friends

I have a Plan

Im going to get a little personal about me with you.
I Just finished a Drywall & Paint Job and realized the awesome earning potential I have within my grasp If I had 10 or more people just like me we could increase profits 10 fold maybe more. Im not saying this to soloist anyone or sell anything this is just a possible solution to raise capital to advance our projects like Energy Bonds Green Jobs and promote the best of our best Ideas. For 30 years I have been meeting all my family needs within my means with just the help of my wife.
My thought is this lets all network with one another our jobs what we do best refering one another for work and taking 10% or what ever of the job refered and put 5% into a We the People Account & the other 5% to the one who refered the job.
Mr. Pickens has spent over 50 Million of his own Money, Tell me why we all can't pull together and do this. I think most of us here part of the 77 Million Baby Boomers, I have 10-15 years left in me to sucure our Grandkids Furture.

So what do you think ?
Am I Dreaming :o} Or can we or are we willing. The only Power the Government has over us is what We the people Give them.
I'm really afraid of what I'm seeing where they are going.

Several of you messaged me with comments on today's SUMMIT. For those who weren't able to watch, it can be played over on UTube and many other sites.

I had it on in the background and must say I was very impressed with the tone and positive nature of the meeting. At my age, and with 35 years of promoting conservation, clean energy and building passive solar, earth bermed and geo-thermally assisted homes it was a welcome event.

However...after waiting so long and watching previous efforts dissolve as well as understanding the entrenched apathy of American consumers...I tend to be more impressed with the actions which result from all the words. I will say that there has never been a time in my experience when grass roots movements like Pickens Plan, WE, USGBC and others have been as vocal and prolific.

It really boils down to the fact that you and I and 1.4 million others in Pickens, joined by other millions in similar organizations will need to sustain the grass roots effort; while industrialists figure out how they will build and create the infrastructure believing there are customers waiting at the end of the transmission lines.

It's for this reason my emphasis remains on immediate conservation techniques and early education in K-12. If you're ever thinking about a new business or line of work...consider the energy retrofit market for existing homes. I believe that is the next major industry appropriate to small and large companies.

let's have the pharmaceutical industry and the northern california cash crop growers sit down together to finger out how to legalize, mass produce, tax and build a profitable, sustainable, healthy business together.
% of profits go to solar, wind, geo-thermal, bio-fuel and sustainable resources!

Wise words from a Friend.
This says it all.

You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy
out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another
person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to
anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody
else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to
work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the
other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody
else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is about
the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

Mike
