I would like to start a national push asking the public to give a donation to actually build wind turbines. There are 300 million people and if we averaged $1 per person we could install about 300 turbines. The revenue from the turbines would then install an additional 75 turbines per year (and increasing) thereafter. It is like a chain letter. Obama has great fund raising capability, and Pickens has a great forum for getting the word out. If we could actually join forces we can generate public enthusiasm to actually get something done. We can also tier donations and have plaques on each turbine installed showing who donated at different levels.

Just think if we could get private donations of $3 billion which I think is possible. That would be 1000 turbines, and 250 in year two, progressively increasing as we roll the savings into purchasing even more. Why $3 billion, well I would bet there are millions of people out there that would donate $10, and if you get corporate donors, $3 billion sounds like a cake walk.

The issue I see is that the installer has to be a non-profit organization otherwise the profits would be siphoned off rather than building new turbines. I am sure there will also be competition.

I'm a "Welcomer" on this site and from what I've seen over the last several months, we need to develop a HIGH SCHOOL plan. There are teachers out there looking for data to present to their classes and students signed up on here looking for data to present to classmates. We have Pickens U... any teachers on this group willing to come up with a basic lesson plan? What they seem to want is a power point presentation with data, facts, projections, alternatives.... I say why not get 'em in on this when they're young...ER!!! Seems we have a lot of forward-thinking high-schoolers out there!
