I just saw an email about this forum, and don't know anything about what it concerns. I must not be the only one, because I am the trailblazer (first to write). I will start a discussion of optical energy solutions with one word: thermoacoustics. Before replying, google the word, and visit some of the sites, including Wikapedia.

There are developers that have devoted decades to this technology, including some with government grants or employment. Basically, the technology starts with heat, which is converted to sound, which is converted either to electricity or to rankin cycle fluid movement (= air conditioning). Currently, the cost to convert heat to electricity is about 1/10 that of PV. Not to mention the concept of getting A/C efficiently from heat (when you need it most).

Now, that said, did I miss the idea of "Optical Energy Solutions"? Maybe Vince can give us a shout about it.
