PickensPlan

The PICKENS PLAN has US energy independence as # 1 priority.
Yet, every year we are selling several hundred billion dollars worth of the US to pay for foreign oil This is true lunacy!
Please check out: "Aren't you p----d off to the hilt, yet?"
Our finest research institute, RMI (Rocky Mountain Institute) recently showed that a strong conservation program, as practiced so successfully in many European countries, would reduce US energy needs by 30%. Why hasn't Washington initiated such a, 100% Win-Win, program? Ask yourself this question again and again - - - until you find the answer! Hint: Could it be that Congress isn't interested because there is no conservation union that could/would throw money at them?

This would, greatly, help us in WINNING THE OIL ENDGAME.
What suggestion would you include in a strong conservation plan?
If you are not very impressed with the energy legislation Congress just passed, maybe you agree when I ask: "Aren't you p----d off to the hilt, yet? CLICK here for latest blog.
Do you ever wonder "Who is this guy, Hans Kugler?" For your information: I went to a catholic seminary school in Germany, and I attached (below) a picture of my graduating class. Guess which one is me?

Each of us must be the change. Changing behaviors on a mass scale is not yet scaled up. Older generations seem most resistant. Youngest generations at times seem entitled. Behaviors engrained for a life time are challenging to shift. I/we must find ways to reinforce conservation efforts in every house, a network of America's 6,000 sustainability organizations might serve, if associated and leveraged, to educate and inspire broad systemic change of culture. In Alaska, our legislature, witnessing daily climate change, took this approach first. Sadly, Governor Palin refused from President Obama's stimulus package $28 million to spur renewable energy in Alaska. I wonder how many transmission lines or wind turbines could have been installed. She has just resigned so we will see what shifts here.

The Semi-Farce, the Energy Bill, is now in the Senate; no science logic.

I'm sorry to see such a poor response to a very important topic. I'd think that with all the knowledge and talent floating around this site, there would have been more activity here. What's wrong, people? Is it that conservation means that YOU will have to do something, take some action YOURSELF, rather than continuing down the "someone should really do something about this", or "daddy Obama, please fix it" road that seems to be prevalent?

Come on, step up. I've changed the way I live, put my money where my mouth is. What about all of you? What's your carbon footprint? How much energy do you WASTE every day? Still driving a 4000 pound, 12mpg SUV to move a lazy160lb. ass to work every day, pouring irreplaceable fossil fuel down a rathole, and carbon mono- and -dioxide into the atmosphere while you sit in the drive-through line? Let's get with the program, people. EACH OF YOU is the answer to our problems. YOU have the power to change the world. Stop the whining and posturing and DO SOMETHING TO CHANGE THINGS. I like a positive thinker! But, sadly enough, here is the reality:
4 years ago I installed a 3 kw PV system on my house - - - 3 kw because I listened to the eternal promises (in reality El Toro Poo Poo) by GM, that "soon" they would have their plug-in hybrid available for sale, and because I wanted to have enough electricity to charge one.
In China they started selling small and medium-size plug-in hybrids Dec. 08. What happened to the US automotive genius? Dominated by the oil moguls that can't have such oil-free cars become a reality?
All the promises by the present administration are being fogged up by brainless actions: With all our tax dollars given to them, they couldn't make producing a common-sense plug-in Volt a requirement?
But this administration is sure kissing butts with the coal unions and industry.
Environmentally the worst any administration could do is to support - - - yes, the BS-sers support - - - coal strip mining. The administration just recently informed a W-VA congressman (coal lobbyist) that they would not stand in the way of 24 (twentyfour * * * TWENTYFOUR) coal strip mining projects.
Wow! When an administration places payback (the coal unions and industry put $ 38 million into the Obama campaign) above what is right for our country/environment, how would you define that?

Are similar "successes" (real El Toro Poo Poo) in our future in respect to health care?
The 2 major problems with health care are:
a) A lack of education - - - that exercise and nutrition can eliminate as much as 80+% of disease risks. For example:
Type 2 diabetes is 90+% self-induced; exercise and nutrition (correctly taught and applied) could eliminate this disease and would cut 90% of diabetes drugs.
Depression literally disappears when people start an exercise program according to ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) standards. John Greist, MD, Wisconsin Univ., published that more than 10 years ago. Just recently John Abramson, MD, Harvard Medical school, told us that "depression is an exercise deficiency" in his best-selling book "Overdo$ed America."
b) Overpriced prescription drugs.
c) Outrageously overpriced pharmaceutical drugs.
d) Obscenely overpriced pharmaceutical drugs.
e) etc.
f) etc. They make from 10,000 to 24,000% profit.
Why aren't educational programs teaching us how to live healthier, drug-free, and longer lives? Here is the answer: In respect to depression alone, it would eliminate $ 14.5 Billion worth of antidepressant drugs. Do you think the pharmaceutical industry would let this happen - - - ever???????????????
Please don't buy the El Toro Poo Poo that they need the profits to develop new drugs!
Ah, and here comes the Whitehouse with a special arrangement with the pharmaceutical industry: In response to giving this industry a seat on the health care counsel (?), a magnificent agreement was just announced with the pharmaceutical companies: Over the coming 15 to 20 years the drug companies have agreed to lower drug prices by - - - hold on to your underpants - - - don't fill them with shock results - - - 1 to 2%.
Hallelujah!
Praise El Toro Poo Poo!
