High-Altitude Winds Have Enough Energy to Power the Entire Planet. A study published in the journal Energies maps the best spots for harnessing high-altitude winds. The challenge: coming up with the technology to extract and distribute it globally. "We could potentially power all of civilization," said Ken Caldeira, a climate scientist with Stanford University's Carnegie Institution. Jet stream winds are far more potent and reliable than winds on the ground. With proper investment, this technology could be operating in 5 years and commercially ready in 10.
Renewable Energy Tops Investment. Despite the global economic slump, total clean-energy investment last year grew 5 percent to $155 billion worldwide (WallStreetJournal 6/3/09). "For the first time ever, investment in clean power generation outpaced investment in traditional energy sources." China topped developing countries with $15.6 billion in new investment. Hey people! I have been trying to find a wind turbine company that would like to open a branch here in New Mexico. Trust me, there's plenty of wind here! I've written to GE, Swift along with a couple more. To no avail. I'm very interested in marketing a smaller version designed for the average homeowner and Apt. complexes. If you can supply me with any information regarding this, I would be very grateful.

I would hope while everyone is out an about on this holiday that they would recruit at least 5 or more new members to the plan!
Today is independence day! Lets push the energy independence issue!!

Amen! Let's start tapping all the politicians who have signed on to the Pickens Plan and bring them on The Green Revolution Show. This thing we're calling Energy Independence can be achieved, but it's going to take each one of us to be active, not apathetic! General MacArthur stated, we're not retreating we're advancing in another direction.

If you don't like the word "change" (not many of us do), call it tactical advancement! I like to refer it to a new revolution...

Happy Independence...Energy Independence! Sensational idea, hope Mr. Pickens has the time available to chat with the Army on a weekly basis. If not a monthly chat time would be great. We are going to need all the help we can get to reach the finish line. California has been lagging behind in Congressional Support, and we need to change that ASAP. Let's see if we can get another Congressperson, or perhaps a Senator onboard by July 8th! If we can't get the political support we need, maybe we should start looking for some new representatives at election time. We need to follow the example of Kim Anderson, Pickens Plan Leader in Rhode Island, Pamela Barnes in Arizona, and many, many other Pickens Plan Leaders around the country. What a great job our Volunteer Army has been doing! The American Spirit is alive and well! There is nothing wrong with going to other districts around the country to get support and help for the plan, or other groups for that matter. We all want Energy Independence Now!

There will be a day when your grandchildren will ask, "What was it like without windmills, Grandma? Tell me about those big smoking trucks you used to drive, Grandpa."

Mr. Pickens has started something we are in support of because we believe in American Liberty. It's what drives us and it's our values that cause others to hate us. We're free, proud and independent and one of the many things that set us apart, is we welcome others to join us. Join us in the liberty to pursue greatness.

We are many; we are one...e pluribus unum - Out of many, one!

The Pickens Plan is about Energy Independence from dictators that hate us for our values of freedom, liberty and justice for all. Together we will take back this country and become one...One nation under God!

We are pleased to announce that Congressman Ken Calvert CA 44 became the first US Congressman in California to sign the Pickens Plan Pledge. Congressman Calvert is a cosponsor of HR 1835.
